Nice turntables. Attached picture is an absolute requirement.

Beogram 3000 from 1972, I'm still very fond of it - and it still sounds good and tracks properly (SP12 stylus very low hours). Drive was idler in tapered motor pulley for fine speed adjustment and then a soft round cross-section belt to the inner hub. It's a bit too much of a record playing 'appliance' though, as with all later Beograms, as there's no 'faff' involved in using it and the auto functions are rapid ;)

I will not rest until it is destroyed by a Christmas tree.

Also its price is relatively fair in the current time and market fair, on the other hand when I see its primitive arm compared to the Denon ones from 80s...

I just accidentally/by-chance came across with your above nice picture, and then I noticed that I have not yet fully shared pictures of my revived DENON DP57L on this wonderful thread, even though I briefly touched on it in my post #572.:)

I have revived my treasure DENON DP57L in my PC-DSP-based multichannel multi-SP-driver multi-amplifier fully active stereo audio system for real-time on-the-fly vinyl LP listening (and digital recording, if needed); Ref. #688 on my project thread.

Accordingly, let me share some pictures/photos and diagrams as follows, with links to my posts on my project thread.

Furthermore, just for your possible reference and interest...

My really subjective comparative listening sessions;

- Revival of analog LP player (MC cartridge) in my DSP multichannel multi-driver multi-amplifier fully active stereo system for real time on-the-fly vinyl LP listening (and digital recording, if needed): #688; see the bottom portion of this post

- Inside of Audio-Technica AT-PEQ30 phono preamplifier, and successful DIY suppression of inaudible EMF (electro-magnetic field) interference noise: #697

- Another comparative listening, on-the-fly vinyl LP vs. Remastered CD: analog piano solo recorded in 1967: #722

- Another comparative listening; on-the-fly remastered vinyl LP vs. remastered CD: Bill Evans jazz piano trio, analog recorded in 1977; remastered (2021) vinyl LP (45-RPM 188-gram) vs. its CD release: #740

and,,,
- Summary of my motivations reviving vinyl TT (turntable) in DSP-based multichannel time-aligned multi-SP-driver multi-amplifier fully active stereo audio setup: #758, #1,262(remote thread)

Don’t know why Denon has not brought back those electronically damped tonearms for their new flagship models. It would really be a standout in the market today.

Why use an elliptical bonded stylus?

This exact Denon DL-50M (1978) is now mine. A record store in Melbourne seems to import the odd Denon from Japan, check them out and resell them.

Mostly running fine but platter rotates very slowly after stopping. My DL-103R current fitted to it. Certainly, the W&F is an order of magnitude better than my DD Music Hall Stealth. (0.02% vs 0.11% 2-sigma, 0.01% vs 0.09% RMS via an app).

Why use an elliptical bonded stylus?
Since it is cheap/affordable and interchangeable/replaceable on that MM AT-VM95 cartridge body, and it serves well as contingency/backup for my treasure stylus (elliptical) + MC-cartridge DENON DL-301MkII!
Full detailed story is shared in my post #995 on my project thread; your visit and participation will be much welcome.

As shared in my post #997 there, I will be testing AT-VMN95ML (red, nude micro-linear, aluminum cantilever), AT-VMN95EN (orange, nude elliptical, aluminum cantilever) and/or AT-VMN95SH (brown, nude elliptical Shibata, aluminum cantilever), hopefully in the near future...

Furthermore, as I shared here and here yesterday, I started considering the Audio-Technica's new AT-VMx series such as AT-VM520xEB/H (new VM45 cartridge body + VMN20xEB deep blue standard bonded elliptical stylus aluminum cantilever + new headshell AT-LT10) and AT-VMN45xML stylus (dark-red, nude elliptical micro-linear, boron cantilever)

Having the new one with new headshell, it would be much easier to compare with my current AT-VM95E/H (with shell) and DL-301MkII (with shell) on TT DENON DP57L.;)
Even though I seldom perform "vinyl ceremony" nowadays (ref. #758)...

What do you @Palmer @MRC01 @Sal1950 @Angsty @Petrushka think about this? Then there is the question of how the turntable is connected. I don't really understand it. Is it only wireless and only compatible with Bang & Olufsen amplifiers/speakers or not?

Physical Connections
Beogram 3000c:
1 x Powerlink (DIN)
1 x Power

What is a DIN Powerlink? Only for signal or power or both? ...

A google search and voila. :) Apparently this:

Beosystem 3000c
I have all the components of the Beosystem 3300, the successor to this, except the turntable. The receiver has the best FM tuner of any receiver I've ever owned. But I'd be happy to part with it for only $10,000

To answer the question about Powerlink, it carries the line-level signals between the components, as well as other control information. Using either the remote or the Beomaster receiver, you can do things like play specific tracks of not only the CD but also the cassette tape and the turntable. It is kind of cool in practice.

My guess is since they do not have the electromechanical manufacturing competence they used to have and possibly their turntables are made by Hanpin or other OEMs.

I am not familiar with this one. Could it be having a failure of the platter brake? Or did it not have such a device to begin with?

They are taking a page from the stars - be expensive, have limited, uh, connections I guess...
Sign of the times.

On another note, and probably a little off topic - for now 100 TT's , that's 100 customers for cartridges - at some point - to Peter Ledermann of Soundsmith.

I think that man has more than earned it.

Yeah it's the same dual directional system as the others of the era. The tape head gap seems correct. After stopping, it is being controlled slowly forward every second. I'll have a look at the electronics at some point. This one has the dreaded proprietary IC, so I would want to make sure nothing is about to fail that would fry it.
