Me too, probably, but that Fairchild is in much better shape than I am. Tonearm looks 30 years younger - ?We're within a year or two of the same age

What kind of age expectancy does one have for the belt used on the sweet turntable? This is my first TT ever. Mofi StudioDeck. I chose it and not the Rega, because is matt black, the name mofi sounds cooler than rega, the button glows orange and other orange accents. In general looks much cooler than the P3 in my opinion.

Thank youno idea
I used to have a Strathclyde turntable, belt driven of course. The company went out of business long before I got the turntable and ran for a long time, but the belt stretched out of shape. Could not find a replacement. This is something like 30 years I'm talking about here. But still . . .Thank youIC.
I had a long round thick and very nicely compliant belt required for a J A Michell Engineering Hydraulic Transcription Turntable or whatever it was called. I was eventually led to the sales rep for Canada and he hooked me up with one at no charge.I used to have a Strathclyde turntable, belt driven of course. Good on you.I had a long round thick and very nicely compliant belt required for a J A Michell Engineering Hydraulic Transcription Turntable or whatever it was called. I was eventually led to the sales rep for Canada and he hooked me up with one at no charge.
Interesting question and I think that some enthusiasts for whatever reasons gravitate to belt drive as do direct drive proponents do to the DD. It a choice...Good on you.
My question is "how long will MoFi be in the turntable game?"
This is one of a number of reasons why, if I had to make the choice all over again, I would choose a direct drive turntable
At least 15 years. The belt on my VPI Traveler is similar and is that old without being stretched out of shape. What kind of age expectancy does one have for the belt used on the sweet turntable?
Wow that is some high grade rubber stuff. I have seen many a tape deck with melted and gummy belts after 7-8 years. At least 15 years. The belt on my VPI Traveler is similar and is that old without being stretched out of shape.
Is it even spinning the right way?I'm looking forward to this one:

(Just kidding, the probability of this thing ever being made is infinitesimal.)
No. No it is not.Is it even spinning the right way?
The theory is to have the tonearm pull back and the record flip automatically, though I guess in that case the tonearm is still effectively in the wrong place.Or just have the tone arm on the back or the other side…
