Well i'll be a Bunyip's Uncle, looks like our boy from Garramilla has made it to ASR!

I miss Cambridge Soundworks. The whole sub/sat Ensemble System was, for home markets anyway, very forward thinking. Kloss was a brilliant marketer who knew how to sell a concept while offering a lot of value for the money. Almost the "anti-snake oil."
I still have my Ensembles working. Had to refoam the satellite's woofers (both on the front speakers and the surrounds). Still sound great. Now powered by a Denon AVR running Audissey

My particular CSW clock radio was made during Creative's ownership of the company, but the plastics are exceptionally thick, and inside are three drivers with hefty magnets. Stereo wide feature enhances room-filling quality of the sound nicely. As purchased, the CD laser pickup wasn't reading disks, but as luck would have it, replacement pickups are inexpensive.

Picked up a Yamaha KX-500 cassette deck today. I just love these VFD displays. It'll mostly be a playback deck since I already have a reel-to-reel for high-quality recording but it's just fun to listen to music at night and see both the analog (Akai GX-635D) as well as the digital (KX-500) VU-meters bounce.
