Newby 1st steps for Room Acoustics

Hi all,
I'm a newby to all of this and am struggling to know where to start.
I'm a home DJ and looking for some tips as to where to start with Room Acoustics.
Its a weird room. Low height (2.1m), long (5.6m), wide (3.7m)
Apologies for the poor mark ups but me speakers are as per the blue circles along wall "E". I've lined the walls and soundproofed as shown in the below mark up and now need to look into sorting the acoustics.
Where would be a good start? I'm assuming bass traps? or ? Issue is i cant get them right in the top corners due to Air Conditioning, Window, and door. Really only 1 high corner is a legit corner. In the below pics there are home made bass traps in this 1 corner. I want to get rid of these as they look rubbish.
As it is also a guest room i need to be able to get it past the wife. I was hoping the addition of wooden wall paneling (I was looking at the Costco Artiko Sonolok?) along wall "E" and maybe "D" or "B" would help?

Well, if the position of the speakers is a given then you need to EQ the speakers, especially the right one in the corner. First get a Umik 1 measurement microphone and free REW software and measure the speakers separately using the moving microphone method (google it). Then you need some way to EQ the signals going into the speakers. A possible hardware solution is a minidsp or a Behringer Ultracurve DEQ2496.

BTW: listening at high loudness levels over longer periods kills your hearing - just saying' ...
 
If you think the room jangles then get soft furniture (a sofa upgrade!) and things like nice rugs including on the walls. And have something more substantial in front of the bathroom. If you are getting weird bass issues a certain small amount of speaker positioning can have an effect especially if the speakers have rear ports. Personally I'd look at mounting the speakers on wall brackets either side of the TV, as I'd find it weird to listen to audio from behind me. You might need different speakers though. I did wall mounting and added two slim subs on the floor, one behind a chair - by orders of the camp commandant! A right pain to set up, but I'm happy now.

If all else fails, then by all means invest in kit to do room EQ, and also, let me patronise you about music volume :)
 
Those “Acoustic panels” are merely current on-trend decorative features and will serve very little purpose for controlling the RT (reverberation time) or as a ‘sound insulator/proofer’ regardless of the many positive customer reviews online claiming otherwise. If you need proof, try and find manufacturer test data for any of these products stating absorption coefficients in the octave band range 63Hz - 8kHz. They won’t have any. If it is the RT that you are trying to control then simple shortpile carpet tiles would be just as effective. But that is not the current fashion.

Broadband absorbers start to be effective where the absorbent layer is 50mm thick (mineral wool at min density 30kg/m3). 100mm thick and you start controlling lower frequencies. Test your space for its RT. You want a space that is not lively because you are playing fast paced music. 0.5 seconds would be a good start and to be fair most furnished rooms should achieve this without additional treatment. So test first to see where the room is at currently. This will give you a good foundation for eq-ing as a next step.
