Newbie looking for advise

Might be best to list what you can access within your budget, especially with an in-home trial.
I dont think dealers do in home trial in Singapore, i have booked a few demos to listen to the Mofis /REFs/ Revels tomorrow. My budget is in the 5-7k USD range.

Unfortunately nobody carries Ascends/ PH BMRs here so i am unable to demo them. So far have demoed Monitor platinum 200 3g and am really impressed with them. Less so with SVS Titan comparatively.

Too bad. I'd concentrate on Revel then Mofi....REF is what?

I have several older Ascend models, like them a lot. Newer ones would likely be even better. Monitor no experience with, not a big brand IME

Ah i see KEF Q11 Metas measure better than R11 Metas tone wise?
Not impossible at all, you can check the "compare" page of spinorama. If you are considering bookshelves as well, the recently reviewed Ascilab C8C (active) is now the champion of the ranking. Its bass extension is comparable to a floorsander. Same for Audio First Cadentia, very good looking and passive

Oops, I missed that the original post mentioned the R11 Meta and not the Q11 Meta. It looks like the R11 Meta has more bass extension and less treble rolloff than the Q11, and I assume that the R11 Meta can play louder. The Q7 Meta also has a similar tonality rating to the Q11 Meta, but the bass drops off more quickly without the extended bass shelf of the Q11 Meta.

Looks like one still has to get on a waiting list for Ascilab speakers even in Asia. Might be worth the wait.
