Hi All
I will be building a home theatre/ stereo hybrid system in my apartment - square room 3.4m x 3.4m.
Ps, I’m not sure if you realise how huge both the Arendals are? And the Mofi’s?
And the Titans and pinnacles, not to mention the 3000 subs.
All are overkill for your room size imo.
A personal recommendation of the posted,Hi All

As this will be my first setup, am looking to buy something can sounds good and last me a long time.
Yes, that was my initial consideration, to have a pair of endgame-ish speakers from the start and own it for 20 years. I expect(hope) to move to a bigger place within the next 5 years.Very true Paul, but if he can afford them, quality speakers like the towers mentioned can last you 20 years or more. It's very possible he may not be in the current digs that long.
OTOH even the smallest of stand mounts will most likely take up nearly the same amount of floor space as the mentioned towers but will sacrifice many strengths the towers will offer.
I have been enjoying this in the little aluminum bowls since my childhoodWelcome to ASR! Do you prefer the variety which is wrapped in lotus leaves and steamed, or steamed in a glass/metal bowl?
(For those who don't know, "lo mai kai" is a dimsum dish of glutinous rice with chicken)
For a room that size, I would go coaxials. Something like the KEF R11 Metas you are considering would be very nice + 1 subwoofer.

How does MOFI 888 compare?
Keith - I am on a gluten free diet.
KEF R11s in my country is significantly cheaper than the Arendals ~ 55% the price
Yes be careful of info overload and I should have included the MOFI in my recomended.Getting into this is information overload, i also see people saying MOFI 888 outperforms the R11s. In a setup where i will have subwoofers and the accompanying center channels, will R11 still be the "best"?
The Mofi 888 is slightly cheaper (by a few hundred dollars) than the R11 MetaYes be careful of info overload and I should have included the MOFI in my recomended.
Now between them I think it does come down to cost in your country.
Both are excellent measuring coaxial speakers that you should be very pleased with for decades.
Between the MOFI and KEF, which can you get the better deal on?
thank you! - looks like KEF is a strong contender for my situationTheoretical only, but the Kef's have an on-axis treble roll-off and a shelved bass roll-off that should make them friendly in a small untreated room. From Erin's Audio Corner:

Note the nearly perfect directivity.
Hi ! The best sites to find measurements are this one and Erin's audio corner. You will find outstanding performance of Kef and Mofi, Amir was enthusiast about R11 and Erin about 888, good for Arendal but latest models are not been sent around for measurements as some years ago (?!) and price has boomed, quite some criticalities about SVS Ultra Pinnacle linearity. You can also consider Revel in such price range, always an excellent performer and the original legacy of Floyd Toole's research, or Ascend but they cook most of their measurements at home. Will appreciate your expert advise thanks!

There is no gluten in glutinous rice. The term comes from the stickiness of the rice, it's high in amylopectins. It gives you a different texture.
where are you located? i have a pair of monitor audio silvers that i'm not using but outside of boston, usa, the shipping is likely to be expensive! Thanks, what if i prioritize a dual channel stereo setup instead? Would any of the towers be feasible?
very good point! you dont really save any space with stand-mounts!Very true Paul, but if he can afford them, quality speakers like the towers mentioned can last you 20 years or more. It's very possible he may not be in the current digs that long.

otoh they can be easier to move around. Sometimes even a WAF thing.very good point! you dont really save any space with stand-mounts!
Ah i see KEF Q11 Metas measure better than R11 Metas tone wise?Hi ! The best sites to find measurements are this one and Erin's audio corner.
