Hi guys,
I've been a lurker for a while and finally got my own place to invest in some speakers for my desk setup. This is used for mainly gaming and kicking back on the couch behind to just enjoy music. My budget is around $800 for the speakers, and around another $500-800 for a sub. I don't listen too loud. Not sure in terms of DB but nothing too crazy.
My humble audio background:
JBL LSR305(10 years) > JBL 104 (Changed to this due to lack of space. It's not that good.)
IEMs: JH Audio 13, I got this 10 years ago
Headphones: Sennheiser HD650. I don't use headphones other than discord with friends
Now that I have a little bit more room, I am thinking of investing in better speakers. First, this is the picture of my current room, which is roughly 3m(L) x 2.8m(W), x 3m(H)
You can see where my current LSR305s went to, my racing sim setup.
My general plan is to get a sub and share it between the 2 pairs of speakers in my room, and upgrade the JBL 104 on my desk. This JBL104 is using a SMSLc200 as a preamp and headphone amp.
I only have 1 requirement: Preferably in a white cabinet, and look good.
Therefore, here is my shortlist of a few speakers. Removed a few options
1. Ascilab F6Bs
2. Ascilab F6B
3. Genelec 8010A
4. Kef q1 Meta
5. LS50 Meta (I have a deal with s2 Stands, total cost $800 USD+-) Used, some scratches, but all g
I am leaning toward the Ascilab lab F6Bs with a SVS SB1000. As my desk is near a wall with a very weird structural protrusion halfway in.
Perhaps I am missing out on something? Please do let me know!
