Interesting. They have removed the PT2259s and are instead using pair of PCM5122 DACs, presumably in an attempt to address the previous unit's shortcomings.

The PT2259 used in the Wondom has poor load driving capability so will not drive a Topping amp for a start without severe clipping or having to use reduced signal levels, resulting in low DNR and poor noise performance. The ic is specified to drive 6k minimum load and they mean it.

I just picked up some Crown CTS amps the spec sheet I found says they have a 5k input impedance for unbalanced (10k for balanced). I wonder if I should grab some of the these cheaper models and see if I need to modify them for my amps or see how the new BDSP2.4U Pro pans out.

New unit looks tempting, but I have a feeling it would not leave me happy. Hoping we can get some measurements on them sometime. The charts they share seem pretty uninformative. Says max output is just 0.9v on the website, seems really low.
