New Topping B200 Mono Amp

While I don't have THE answer for you, I can say that low gain leads to less distortion, which is highly desirable. :)

I would be very interested to hear what others think on this one.

Not sure if the music listed has the dynamics required to provike this u
Issue. This track has a snare that will provoke it in my system about 2 minutes in.

What a beautiful track. So lovingly crafted! Reminiscent of Oscar Peterson Trio.

I was not able to find any snare drums hits that really pushed anything hard during entire track. I saw the bass swinging the meter more than anything after 3-4 minute mark. I got the volume up to 90% and still only register 101dBA. AND STILL WAS CRYSTAL CLEAR and DARK.

This is a great track to test stuff out on for dynamics, for sure. Still, I had zero issues, and in fact am even more satisfied with my setup after listening to it. You may have something else going on there causing you the pain you are having.

The track right after This West (Boo Boo's Birthday) has an even harder snare hit at 1:04 in. Does that cause the same issue for you?

This issue is now a closed chapter for me as I am now biamping using purify class D for the low section and B200 for the high section on my LCR. Thank you all!
how did you connect it, what preamp do you have? how to get the same volume levels since B200 has XLR and Purify class D has RCA?

They both use XLR and are connected via the Marantz AV10s biamp function. There is a 1.2db gain difference between the topping and Audiophonics. Dirac Live Bass control takes care of the discrepancy.

Hard to see from the review that the amp cant deliver enough current for a pair of F226BE to rock!
I'm running them to drive my F206's. Plenty of great power.

Just remember, if you can’t make them clip easily it is because your are an audiophile listening to Stockfish recordings all day long.

When you get your Amps try this track and wait for the snare to come in. Give it a bucket of coal and listen to the voice coil turn percussion into heat.

Hi. Thanks for this album recommendation. Love it from the first track. Reminds me of some Mehldau's early albums, but with more grunt in the bass/drum section. Great !

Shall we conclude that you find the B200 better in the Highs than Purify ?

So what’s the point of paying shitloads for amp if these seemingly cheap ones are offering perfect measuring ? What do I get? Please explain
Quality control, years of history of making superlative products, something that looks nice (subjective), made in the US, residual value ... did I miss something? (MacIntosh)

I'd say there's no point in paying "shitloads" for an amp, but some might say that it's worth paying a bit more for better reliability/customer service...
