New Topping B200 Mono Amp

It was something you have posted in Jan 13, 2023.
Bass traps don’t make shorter revaberation times in the mids. I still see many hard walls. Barely any Carpets, etc.
If you clap your hands, you will still have some fun for half a second or so. What do you expect from so much larger speakers in such a tiny room with much echoes?

No, planning ahead for larger room. This is maxed out.
I don’t want to lose side wall because it’s used for projector.
The response is good for mids - I have mainly bass problem
I need space

Your Hegel is fine.

The Topping B200s are probably better (lower noise, distortion ... not sure about power, and they are a bit unknown), Purifi amps are probably top of the tree, Benchmark make lovely 3k amps

Point is that no changes to your electronics are really going to improve your sound - unless you want/need significantly more power.

An amp upgrade would be to scratch a personal itch; time for a change, brand envy, bragging rights or the satisfaction of owning state of the art engineering ... personal to you, nothing wrong with that but not really anything we can help with.

Think about what makes you happy, and do that :)

Yup. Part of the reason I went with the IOM Ultra instead of other options based on Hypex or Purifi is because of the way it is aesthetically a perfect match for my streamer. Sound isn’t the only factor out there.

Thank you for responses , I’ll stick with Hegel then. Should be fine for scalas when I get them eventually.

This amplifier can work with my SMSL C 200 that has no balances?......

Ordered a pair of B200 from Audiophonics. Should be here by end of the week. Was a close race with their house brand Purifi 1ET6525SA stereo set. I still might switch, but I doubt 2Ohm stability will ever be of importance to me. Also, AB gives me some illogical feeling of comfort over D. Topping as well wins the beauty (box) contest. Really excited to test the monos.

The B200 monos should pair very nicely with your Buchardt S400s. Depending on gain settings and if you're applying room correction filters or not, you may find that adding an active preamp, like the Topping Pre90, is beneficial. I do occasionally use positive gain on my preamp, up to +4 or even +6 dB, depending on source material. Too bad the Pre90 does not have a trigger output.

may find that adding an active preamp … is beneficial
Thanks!
Well, there is a A70 Pro / D70 Pro SABRE combo waiting here. ;)
Trigger out is avail

Do you think a proper linear power supply would improve sound/performance ?

Would the Benchmark and Hypex amps also benefit ?

The best measuring amps we have yet seen and they all achieve this with some form of SMPS, must mean something.

I think keeping the B200 PS offboard probably helps reduce noise, and makes them more servicable.

Mine are still sounding great with no issues.

Amir's reviews have shown Toppings own measurements to be accurate, why I bought mine.

Given the review of the B100, a B200 review is most unlikely, sme as there was no E70 velvet review after the E70 review.

Different designs. I expect stellar measurements and performance from Topping, still like to see how stellar via testing by a third party like Amir etc.

B200 has nothing to do with B100...2 complete different amplifiers
