New system need speaker cables - what to buy?

What do you mean "box cables"? You mean buying cable in bulk in a reel or something? I buy 12g that way for that reason, suits any situation I have well. I have typically purchased direct from Monoprice, altho sometimes they do sell thru Amazon.
Ok That's exactly what I wanted a spool for. If 12awg is enough, could you tell me a place and brand to buy it? I mentioned one I found on Amazon above, but it wasn't recommended. Thanks.

This good ?

Yeah there's no need to use CMP rated wire unless it's going in a plenum space. CL2/3 is for in-wall use. If it's just for indoor use but not going in a wall, you can get the cheaper stuff like Chrispy linked.

If you want to buy a spool to have extra on hand then consider getting the in-wall rated cable just in case you need it in the future for a different application.

Looking for decent THIN 12/14 gauge speaker cables. I only want one hole in my floor and I need to run cable for one surround, and two kitchen speakers through my cellar- 20 25 foot runs. The cover on my current 12 Gauge is just a bit too thick. Thanks.

Zip cord from the hardware store. 16 gauge for short runs, 14 for longer. It works as well as anything you can buy. If your speakers accept banana plugs you might consider attaching them to the wires. It's a convenience more than anything else.

The gauge is defined by diameter, excluding the insulation.

I just bought a new system and while I'm an experienced and discerning musician, I'm new to audiophile equipment. Budget is flexible. What speaker cables would you recommend, from experience? As of now, I'm considering Cardas Cygnas or Clear Reflection. Someone suggested Synergistic Research as a line to look into, speakers are cornwall IV - high efficiency and horn forward of course.

PASS Labs XP20 Preamp>PASS Labs XA30.8 Pwramp>Cornwall IV speaker

The speakers have a 4 post biwire setup, would biwire speaker vs jumpers be suggested and what speaker cable would be a good match for this system? I listen to mostly live music recordings, grateful dead, phish, etc.
2.5mm2 or 4mm2 copper cable. Cheapest you can find. Just make sure its not CCA.

I know- But any brands have thinner insulation/cover than others?
I understand hating to drill holes in your floor. It sucks but sometimes it’s the only way. Be careful the hole is large enough though that the wire glides through it without so much friction it causes stress on the cable. Generally cheaper brands will use less insulation but really I wouldn’t overthink it too much. The difference in most brands is going to be pretty minor and you’re still stuck with a hole in your floor.

This is Audio Science Review. I figured out that I should just make one slightly bigger hole all by myself. Eureka!

You could just remove the wires from the sheath.
