I have finally sold my pb 2000 pro. Now i am looking for suggestions. One thing is that for 90s bollywood music ported does not perform well, actually is worse. Like i ran indian movie song it had no bass even after running subwoofer at -5dbfs. 1st of all i will have to add 2 subwoofers as one will have null issues as i have normal bedroom untreated and square room 13x11feet. I now want to try other brands as well. Like ascendo/monolith and any other you suggest. Sealed will be bad for movies? I have dali opticon 2 mk2 and denon x4800h.

The subwoofer response is 95% dictated by the room, and 5% by the subwoofer. If you place any subwoofer from any brand in the same position in the room, you are likely to obtain the same frequency response. You are better off getting a microphone to diagnose the problem. The solution is going to be better placement, maybe more subwoofers, and DSP.

shall i go with sb 1000 pro x 2 for 13x11feet room? Will it good room filling bass in movies?

but people say sb 1000 pro cant get loud at 20hz
What does that have to do with our brief conversation? "people" say a lot of stupid crap. The lower response of a ported sub is different from a sealed, they're more efficient at the lower end of the spectrum generally so many ported, can have a significant advantage at 20hz. In chasing ULF, just how loud do you plan to listen? It gets difficult and expensive....and if sealed generally takes several.

Most of the popular "budget" subs don't do much of anything at 20 Hz except flop around and make distortion. The SB 1000 @ 20 Hz has 62% Distortion, puts out 89.78 dB with 90 ms of group delay. The threshold of hearing at 20 Hz is ~76 dB so with that much distortion and group delay it is would probably sound better to not even try 20 Hz. Here is a list of 10 subs tested https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/i-measured-10-subwoofers.49042/ There are subs that do better on this list. You should also check out Rhythmic and Hsu subs which are still reasonably priced and do a little better at 20 Hz. If you really want meaningful SPL (~115+ dB) with reasonable distortion @ 20 Hz you need to move way up probably to 18" or 21" woofers. Something like these https://www.powersoundaudio.com/col...D19gTuJUhmgj2e0NW8VnpJc_XaVGiqqAeF5cYDz_28-L9 The real question is whether you actually want or need solid 20 Hz response. For movies probably for music not so much.

the thing is that i have sold my pb 2000 pro and in indian original music cds which have most spl in midbass like 40 50 60 hz ported did not work well it was bad bass but for deep bass music like 20hz it was best room filling. What do you suggest now?

My indian music cds have most spl in midbass region pb 2000 pro did not work well. In india audio equipment gets very costlier due to customs duty adn all that. I myself am a reseller of svs in india so may get good price

SVS PB 17 Ultra is a good sub, as mentioned the room and set up of the sub are just as important as the sub.

More likely your setuip of the sub than any problem inherent in the PB2000. Or the recordings have issues. If you need smaller boxes, sealed can help, and if going sealed dual is a good idea. I don't know what your choices in India are particularly, tho.

in india there is huge custoems duty import fee etc. As i am a reseller of svs in india i can get good discount from distributor. I can go dual sb 1000 pro. will it serve purpose. Room is only 13feet x 10.75feet

As noted, SVS 1000 would not do much at 20hz. If chasing 20hz first issue is if your room and overall environment can take it at high SPL (rattling, resonances, neighbours or family). And then you would need bigger subs like 4000 or higher series.

I would always go with at least 2 subs if you have placement options.

issue is at 40 50 60hz midbass with pb 2000 pro in indian music. So 2 sb 1000 pro will distort at 20hz?

Issue with music is in you setup vs some other you heard?

A common way to deal with different content is to have different presets and EQ curves. So in your case you would boost 40-60 hz range.

Unless you get some miracle gains in your room at 20hz 1000’s are not going to be very effective at that frequency and high output. Best to note SPL expectations as otherwise people can’t be specific with their help.

So how do we boost 40 to 60hz in dirac live bass control

Not Dirac expert and has been a while since I messed with Dirac, but should be a way to draw a curve in Dirac software to boost that range 5 or even more dB.

sb 2000 pro x 2 will be good at 20hz or not?
