New Server: Report Issues Here

That said, I spent the last 6 hours trying to get a simple thing working

It'll get you every time... ;)

Hello, The ASR website is mostly very slow since a few weeks and hard to reach. I never had the experience before for years. I'm in Germany, but have not the same experience with other US websites I visit on a regular basis. So it has nothing to do with the Trans Atlantic Communication :)(subsea cable) I guess. Something has been changed on the server side.

Do you have Telekom as provider? For my its at home the same but it seems to be a Telekom issue as when I enable my VPN it is resolved.
See https://www.heise.de/news/Peering-V...en-Netzbremse-der-Telekom-mobil-10245334.html

Yes it is. Thanks for the hind. It's unbelievable if this is the reason because I have a business contract with the Telecom. Will check it out.
It is really sad (actually more of a scandal) and the reason I will probably change to another provider.

Not a new issue exactly, but I wonder if there are any configuration options for the search indexing?

I find it can be a bit strict and can give limited results...

For example, if I search for:
"Denon AVR-X8500 review" in titles only
or
"Denon AVC-X8500h review" in titles only
...then I get no results.

Whilst searching for:
"Denon AVR-X8500h review" in titles only
...gives only one result, the review.

I think it could be helpful if the search could also return some results that are similar to the search term, eg typos and abreviations.

Ideally the search should show allow me to find the review if I just search for something like:
"X8500 review" in titles only.

I have seen the same thing before. Elastic Search allows phonetic searches for English terms but seems to be strict with model numbers. I will have to see if there is a way to make that better.

If memory serves model numbers and similar none word strings, trigger an exact match requirement (or something like that).

I've found the best way to deal with this is just use a search engine, as they generally have more data, and more advanced algorithms.

If I google Denon X8500 Review The "Denon AVR-X8500H AVR Review" is the very first result.

another trick I like to use is a domain specific title search, as that can really help narrow down results when searching for common words.

Code:
allintitle: "Denon" "review" site:audiosciencereview.com

For example, if I search for:
"Denon AVR-X8500 review" in titles only
or
"Denon AVC-X8500h review" in titles only
...then I get no results.

Whilst searching for:
"Denon AVR-X8500h review" in titles only
...gives only one result, the review.
Try this as well (titles, posts only by Amir);
One page of results, all the Denon AVR reviews.

So – it is two and a half weeks now since the »Master Audio Review Index« went down?! Starts to become a bit difficult to understand that.

BTW – anybody here ever tried a dentist who works for free?
