New Server: Report Issues Here

Afaict all ok except the Review Index page, which I think is something custom anyway and not XenForo, has to be since it runs off an ASR-specific database.

Search index seems complete and is updating and finding my newest posts.

Reviews "front" page is loading much faster than before. That was very slow before (and a candidate for page caching).

Sleep well, Amir.

Thank you for your kind guidance.
Oh, it still gives "an internal error" message;

My guess (and as a sysop myself I apologize for guessing) is this page is failing because the script can't find the database and the database isn't there because it requires a migration that isn't part of standard XenForo set-up that Amir hasn't done it yet. So let's let Amir sleep, have his coffee and breakfast, tend the garden, read the morning newspapers, attend to his correspondences and so fourth. We can manage without for a while.

Are the dates of the latest reviews on the Reviews page correct?
  • 7Hertz Timeless IEM Review - Yesterday at 3:39 PM
  • Fosi DS1 Portable DAC & Headphone Amp Review - Yesterday at 8:06 PM
  • Truthear GATE $17 IEM Review - Today at 12:48 AM
These are USA Eastern Time referenced from the date of the post.

Essentially agree with you.
Let's allow and give good rest to @amirm!

The forum works flawless btw, it's the indexation of the reviews that gives an error. But we won't die without it for a few days...

And if that is the only error, it went quiet smooth. If you work in IT and did big migrations (this was one), you know things will not work from the first time and it can take some days to settle everything and check every connection in the system. I did a few in my IT career and none went 100% flawless, even with big teams. It seems that this was largely a one man affair, so that it went this smooth is already a big archievement. I'm sure the rest will be fixed soon.

on this side of the World everything is ok. My contents seem to be updated to the latest writings, until a few days ago the most recent ones were missing.
Thanks Amirm for the tireless work!!!

It's just a little problem...

Per Grok:

"YouTube handles an immense volume of content—over 720,000 hours of video are uploaded daily (500 hours per minute), or roughly 500 hours per minute.

Daily upload: 720,000 hours × 50 MB/hour (base) × 6 (versions) = ~216 TB/day for new content at a conservative estimate."

I wonder how many folks are employed just to keep up.

"YouTube likely employs 150–200 people worldwide just to handle daily new storage—swapping drives, tuning systems, and keeping the data flowing."

Estimate total storage and number of files YouTube has saved.

"5–6 billion hours total"

"5,000,000–15,000,000 TB"

"Best Estimate: 6.5 billion video files"

What percentage of 15 exabytes is 160 gigabytes?

160 GB is approximately 0.00000000107%

---

In my dim past I used to "migrate" Landline Phones for smaller cities from old to new Central Office Switches.

All at once, and no turning back.

Stay till the complaints quit coming in.

This is bigger, but gives the idea.

impressive data! I don't dare to think how much the electricity bill that YouTube receives every month is!;) I hope they have at least one plant of their own!

Works for me. It never hurts to analyze the site using Google’s PageSpeed Insights. It looks like you are faring better on desktop than on mobile, and seeing as how Google prefers mobile nowadays, this could impact your discoverability on search engines. https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/...forum-index-php/0me9k0dlq2?form_factor=mobile

Also, is it time to use a high resolution logo? Replace what's there with the SVG version or paste it and I can make a @2x version PNG for you.

Everyone else getting the pop up asking to let ASR enable push notifications? I never saw that prior to the upgrade.

Reminds me of that Golden Rule as to realistically calculate how time consuming any given IT project will be in the end:

Get a »solid« estimation from a proven expert, double that and replace its original time unit by the next larger one.

So if the expert says one day, you better prepare for two weeks.

Well, I did double the original estimate from 1 hour to 2. :) We had already done the ground work a month ago, getting the new server built and all.

That said, I spent the last 6 hours trying to get a simple thing working on the new server. :(
