When I went to the checkout it was $60 for shipping to the UK. I’ll check again. My eitr 2 arrived today in the UK ( postage wasn't that bad )
Nothing special about that output, has exactly the same functions as the others. Can it control the volume level of the AES/EBU output?
Does it means yes or noNothing special about that output, has exactly the same functions as the others.
It means if you buy the Forkbeard add-on then yes, but if you do not get the Forkbeard add-on then no.Does it means yes or no
I'm curious, when this gets hooked to a Mac. Does it leave the MacOS slider available or locks it on 100% ?1 Connect via USB to your computer, tablet,
phone or streamer.
Yes it is.It looks like the Forkbeard doesn't work with the Remote control.
So I have to use the App to control the volume ? This is a bit annoying.
Sorry, don’t know. Don’t own one to try with my Mac.From the manual:

And what about the volume slider on an IOS device? Is the slider locked at 100% or available to control the output volume of the Spdif output? From the manual:

The Fletcher-Munson style Loudness feature is a really nice function of that Forkbeard module for people using it for a speaker setup regularly at low volume (but other times at reference volume). The Eitr 2 is primarily a DDC to add USB input.
If you don't need/want to use it as your preamp, then just buy it with no FB module.

My Eitr 2 forkbeard is controlling volume from Eitr to Stello DAC via AES output from Eitr. Can it control the volume level of the AES/EBU output?
More than annoying if you own a old iPad or oppo phone or old iPhone SE ( won't download the app ) so i bought a SE gen 2 to use with the Eitr 2 ( works perfectly and you can name the forkbeard and having your name in schiits version of Norse rune on your app is pretty cool )It looks like the Forkbeard doesn't work with the Remote control.
So I have to use the App to control the volume ? This is a bit annoying.
It doesn’t replace a streamer per se, but lets you use your (old that’s sitting around unused) phone or tablet as a streamer by giving it an interface to a better external DAC than the phone in your phone or tablet. So had Eitr 2 for two days so far and I like it ( I like all Schiit stuff I have two sys pre amps and a Eitr 1 and a Rekkr ) the forkbeard works really well ( very impressed actually )
I read somewhere it replaces a streamer? Can't see how? I'm getting a cable for my Wiim to fit onto Eitr so I can use it ( using iPad at the moment via cable ) I bought mine as I suspect will be discontinued like my Eitr 1 ( can see why as the Eitr 2 does more and sounds better ) but why discontinue the Rekkr? There is no other amp like it as far as I am aware? ( Try buying a secondhand one? Hens teeth come to mind ) Anyway moan over...the Eitr 2 is brilliant and my name on the forkbeard in runic form is worth the cost of the module lol
Think I misread the review ( not here ) but I really like my Eitr 2 and my name in rune form on the forkbeard is a nice touch! It doesn’t replace a streamer per se, but lets you use your (old that’s sitting around unused) phone or tablet as a streamer by giving it an interface to a better external DAC than the phone in your phone or tablet.
