New product - SMSL AO300

You are comparing a $400 and a $250 stack.
There are a million options in this price range. Many more than the two you listed. What are you looking for exactly?

I own the ao300 and use the do100 for headphones.
I'm looking for something for my attitude omega b1500 passive speakers. What can you advise me of these two options? They will cost me- ao300- $ 170, do100 pro+aiyima a70-$290. Or can you recommend something else in this price range? Thanks)

If your budget is limited id get the do300. It's incredible for the money. You can always add a better external dac and preamp later.

Thanks for the advice) Only by the do300 I can hardly plug in passive speakers... and it's worth it...much more than any option that I specified in my request :)

Good day everyone! I purchased SMSL AO300 a month ago, KEF Q150 acoustics. I like everything very much, none of the problems listed here have arisen, with the exception of one. Sometimes the protection is triggered when the volume is not very high. It seems to react to some harmonics. I use the USB input. I started up 400 Hz, increased the volume, measured it with a tester – everything is fine, the protection does not work up to the rated power, the sound is very loud. And when some old movie or music with a lot of low and high frequencies triggers protection, and subjectively it seems that it is not playing loudly. Old movies sometimes work at a volume slightly above 20 on the control, and music is slightly above 30. Who has ever encountered such a thing, tell me?

For me i put streaming to "always on" so it never goes in power saving mode when it is on.

Hi to all, i want to make a question because i want to buy the smsl AO300. Has anyone experience any problem in high volume (under 42) because in a video of z reviews when he pushed the volume over 42 the smsl AO300 stoped plays music. Link below at 21 minute. I assume it is a defective unit???

Did anyone ever touch on this? Saw this and nearly had me take it off my shopping list but I havent seen any other complaints about it going into protection or not being able to power speakers....?

I put mine max @ vol 34 and use it everyday and it never breaks down. But yeah i never go over vol 50.

Thank you very much for your reply, I hope that's the reason. For some reason I don't have the Options tab. Can you tell me what the reason is? Thank you in advance!
Well this only works on PC if you have the driver installed.

Go to: C:\Program Files\XMOS\XMOS_Audio_Driver\x64

Open the file: XMOSUSBDACCpl.xml

Thank you very much! It turned out to display the tab and change the value in it. I would never have figured it out on my own. Now I'm going to watch the sound. Thanks again for helping me and taking the time!

Well, I have completely changed my mind about this amplifier.

Its continually losing the connections for Aux, USB and Optical. Sometimes 1, then 2 then all three. I have reinstalled the usb driver and update, seems OK, then 20 minutes later, connections are lost again.

I dont believe buying another "improved" unit is the solution and then hope it will work properly. What did they improve? The circuit board? The software hasn't been updated.

So its going back. Too much hourly trouble. Very very disappointing. I doubt I will buy another SMSL amplifier after this experience.

I have a similar problem. Connecting to PC via USB. Periodically the sound disappears for 2-3 seconds. At this time, you can see that the volume icon in the tray shows that the device is turned off. Factory firmware 1.4. Have you solved your problem?

I have completed this setting. <Always On> It didn't help

Maybe it will help someone. I remind you that there are no problems with the device except for spontaneous shutdowns.

I accidentally touched the USB port on the back of the device with my hand and noticed that the sound disappeared and then appeared again. I decided that it might be static and pulled out the plug from a simple socket and connected it to a power filter with grounding. During the evening and in the morning there were no more problems.

Bluetooth is audibly transparent and you are not going to hear any difference versus usb so if Bluetooth is an option ditch the useless wire.

Please look at the pictures inside the case. You will see that the ground wire is not connected anywhere. I had to connect it myself. So, I don't understand what you changed in your wiring diagram.

Maybe it's connected on my device. I don't want to open it and check. In any case, after connecting through a power filter, everything became fine.

Gentlemen! This is some kind of mysticism! I noticed that the sound disappears when I move the chair! If I don’t touch it, then smsl works without failures. I don’t understand anything. I shot 3 short videos that show the problem.
