Thought I'd share my open baffle builds using 15" coax drivers.
The 2 ( left and right in this home theatre setup) are slightly different in design and the REW file is comparisons of before and after some simple EQ added.
Measurements are just 1m in front and in mildly treated room as shown.
First time working in this material so was interesting build.

Cool speakers. A creative DIY build.:)

So they seem to go down to around 40Hz- 45 Hz from what I can see from your measurements. I think that's impressive with open baffle speakers. How wide is the baffle? How come you chose that width? You could have made it narrower or wider, hence my question.

Is it plexiglass that you made them from? Could you tell us a little more about what it's like to work with plexiglass (or the material you used)?

Thanks Daniel

I usually build electrostatics but thought I needed a change after years of those so this project was born. I've never worked in any way with acrylic ( Perspex) so there was a huge learning curve and a lot of trial and error for me handling the material and understanding how it behaves when creating something.
I don't have a full professional workshop - so it's just diy handyman tools.

Here are some more pics plus a previous bass reflex box design I later discarded.

The open baffles behave quite well I think after EQ is added - considering.
Having them well off the walls and a fair bit of room treatment helps.

The baffle is 610mm wide by 1220mm - same as the previous large reflex box I tried.

It has taken a long time to get them to where I like them now.
