Looks like Onkyo is getting serious about 2-channel audio. According to this news release, 3 products are planned for release in Q4 2025: a pre-amp, power amp, and integrated. The power amp is a class AB advertised to do 200W at 4 ohms, and it looks gorgeous with the large black VU meters, very reminiscent of old school Onkyo amps but in a clean modern package. Personally, I am most intrigued by the pre-amp as it's seems to have a killer feature set: Roon Ready, Airplay/Chromcast/Bluetooth, phono stage, Dirac Live, and even support for DLBC ART. At $1999 USD, should give the NAD M66 a real run for its money and render the NAD C658 obsolete.

As an aside, this news release seems to confirm that 'Premium Audio Co.' is now an umbrella company for the Onkyo, Klipsch, and Integra brands and not Pioneer (Elite).

I just stumbled across the news about Onkyo. I always liked and owned Yamaha products, also Pioneer, Sony and never considered Onkyo. But when looking at receivers recently I noticed Onkyo's offering seemed to be the best choice right there with Yamaha with more features and better pricing. I wonder if the long-term durability is on par with Yamaha or if there is any real difference.

Not really fond of the design of the pre-amp and integrated, don't like the volume knob and the edges around it. The power amplifier looks nice though, curious to see its performance.

The power amp evokes old-school Onkyo (not to mention other Japanese massmarket brands' cosmetics of ca. 30 years ago).
I am not diggin' the big knob in the middle look of the preamp/integrated, either, FWIW -- but, then again, I am old. ;)

Amp is A-F class and there is still not even preliminary manufacturers data for it. Would be nice to see it measured from typology perspective one day.
