New Neumann KH 310 II and KH 350 Rumors: Leaked Pricing & Info

Did not know they used a third-party dome previously. Measurements here: https://hifi-selbstbau.de/index.php/component/content/article/dynaudio-d-76af?Itemid=112&catid=15

I would very much like to speak with someone from K&H who could describe the reasons why they joined Neumann & Sennheiser, particularly from the engineering side. There must have been serious discussions about what the acquisition would mean for the quality of speakers before everyone shook hands and agreed.
Yup - D76AF in the 300 and if memory serves the 410, ATC SM75-150 (not the S model that has a more powerful motor) in the 500C.

Hi,
I still have the Klein+Hummel O 300 with a O 800 subwoofer. Would the KH O310 II be a real upgrade in your opinion?
Or maybe an alternative recommandation..?
Thanks

The original KH310 was already a massive improvement compared to the O300.
From the Neumann release note/FAQ comparing the O300 to their KH310:

(I attached the full doc for you.)

Going from your O300 to the mkII KH310 will be an even greater upgrade.

I seriously doubt that was an engineering choice. ;) :D
The good thing is that (at least for now) this studio monitor R&D center and engineers have stayed the same, hope it will also stay like this in the future.

Room is around 16 x 18 ('merican ft) I think. Arendhal s1 subs or whatever their smallest sealed subs are called. Listening distance ~ 10 ft. Crossover & bass management by MiniDsp SHD. Overall very happy with the setup and plenty of output. Wonder if KH350 would be much of an improvement, there is some appeal to a simpler setup though.
i have 15x12 feet room and planning to upgrade my HS7 to the new Neumann KH310 ii, but only worry I have is the SPL capability/internal limiter kicking in from too much bass due to their sealed design. i produce and mix techno music

There are enough pretty good measurements of SPL capability/frequency in this thread to help you make a choice.

i know, its just that i am without much experience on how those translate in real life
My opinion is that until we see independent measurements, and if you really want Neumann to either :

- Go with the KH 350 if you have room for them. It's a relatively big speaker volume wise, with a BR construction, the bass output will be much superior to that of the KH 310 II, and for where it's priced compared to the 310 II, it's absolutely worth it.

- Go with the outgoing KH 310 A. The mids and treble sections are basically unchanged, and the despite what Neumann said, my guess is that the increase output was for the midbass and above where the KH 310 A wasn't severely limited to begin with. Subbass limitations remain fairly high. For the price difference you might just want to buy a sub or two and enjoy the additional SPL and extension.

- Go with KH120II/150 with sub. Cheaper, arguably better horizontal dispersion than either KH310.

welp i need to check with Neumann, but i'd be on the lower spectrum honestly. my room size is 4.7m length, 3.5m wide and 3m high, and i am listening at 1.6m distance room is treated and fairly good

It's really not very big for a speaker of its output capability. It's a sort of medium-sized stand mount, about 56% the external box volume of the 420 (52L vs 93L). That's not to say it's small, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not that big either.

Yes, that's a more accurate way to put it.
