Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a new thread to talk about the latest rumors about the Neumann KH 310 II. We were talking about this in another post, but to respect that discussion, I thought it was better to open a new one.
The rumors have become really strong in the last few days. Here is what we know so far. If you find any new info, please share it here!
  • First leak: About a year ago, the names "KH 310 II" and "KH 350" (a new speaker) appeared in a software update for the MA 1 system.
  • The private event: Yesterday, there was a private event in Germany organized by the website Hörzone. People had to sign an NDA to listen to some new Neumann monitors, so everyone thinks it was these two.
  • The store mistake: On the same day, a Dutch website published the KH 310 II and KH 350 "by mistake". They showed the prices (including taxes): around €3,175 for each KH 310 II and €3,580 for each KH 350.
Here are the links if you want to see them (In case they delete the links, I have attached two screenshots to this post):
This means a pair of KH 310 IIs would cost around €6,350 / $7,400, and a pair of KH 350s would be about €7,610 / $8,662 o_O:eek:

Does anyone know anything else? What do you think about these prices?
Like I said in the other post, if this is true, it is a crazy price increase. It felt like a massive and pretty risky price hike. They are going from making speakers that normal people& the mass can buy to targeting a much smaller, high-end market (competing with brands like ATC, Barefoot, PSI or big Genelecs).
My prediction is that if they are this expensive, we’ll stop seeing this new version in home and project studios, and they’ll only end up in post-production rooms. They’ll barely have any visibility online, just like what happens now with other models in that price range like the ATC SCM25A, Genelec 8051B, or PSI A-23M... Focal and Dynaudio will look like cheaper and more reasonable options xDD .

Anyway, let's keep looking for info.

I was waiting for 310 mk2 but at this price it's a no-no for me. On another note I wonder what could the size of the woofer on 350s ? It it 8 inch, something bigger? Curious what bass extension would be on it

Some perspective: KH310 A cost 2000 EUR when they were introduced in 2013. Considering inflation in germany, today's price would be 2,720 EUR. So, considering inflation, Mk2 cost around 16 % more than mk1.
We don't know the specs yet, but we know for sure it will have integrated DSP features and digital input, much more features than Mk1.
There has also been a KH310 D with digital inputs. I don't know what it cost back then, but it was a lot more than the analog version.
So, i don't think the price is "crazy". But i also think it is pretty pointless to discuss as long as we don't know how the new speaker performs. And as always, the price is what it is and everybody can decide buying it or not. If you know a speaker that performs the same for a better price, buy that instead!
Personally, i don't need that much speaker at the moment, the KH 120 II is more than enough for my needs.

When they came out, they cost €1,699 per unit, not €2,000. Adjusting for inflation between mid-2013 and mid-2026, they should retail around €2,266. Yet, according to the Dutch website leak, the new version will go for €3,175... WOW. That is a massive 40% price hike.

Even if they are actually a €3k speaker, that jump is just crazy. All the competition (Genelec, Focal, Dynaudio, PSI, etc.) have their equivalent pro models sitting right between €2,100 and €2,600. Literally, ATC SCM 20 (who are the Top of the Line) are 2800 per speaker.

For audio professionals like me who work in small to mid-sized studios and were looking to upgrade our monitors to something siliar to KH 310 mk I , the new version is just way out of reach. We all know the KH 310 Mk1s are getting old&dated and have their limitations, so a lot of us will probably end up jumping ship to other brands.

If these prices are confirmed, it's an absolute joke. But if they land between 2,000 and 2,500 max, they’re going to crush it.

Their official list price (UVP in German language) was as DJBonoBobo wrote 1996.82€, see this review article from 2013

If they don't sell well enough, the prices will be adjusted.

I don't know the ATC, but it seems to be a 2-way with 55Hz reach and not even a waveguide From specs and looks i expect the 310 II to run circles around the SCM 20 in every regard. If not, i would agree they are not worth it, but we will see, as well as street prices.
Genelec: i am not up to date, but the closest model in this price range seems to be the 8341? This may have some advantages over the Neumann (coax), but also big disadvantages (bass).
Dynaudio/Focal/PSI: I am not up to date either, but last time i checked their speakers were far less good than Neumann or Genelec?

ATC & Genelec= GOD TIER / Focal & Adam = Almost GOD Tier / Dynaudio= Mid Pro Tier. Look at the prices:
  • ATC SCM20: €2,800 / GOD TIER
  • Genelec 8341A SAM: €2,600 / GOD TIER
  • Focal Trio6 ST6: €2,600/ ALMOST GOD TIER
  • Adam S3V: €2,555/ ALMOST GOD TIER
  • Dynaudio Core 47: €2,200 / MID TIER
To be honest, I’m right in the market for new monitors and I’ve got the cash ready to blow. I was super hyped for the KH 310 MkII launch, but if the official announcement actually confirms those €3k+ prices, I’ll be forced to pivot on the spot to a cheaper option like the Genelec 8341s. Even those feel like they're stretching the budget for what a small-to-mid-sized studio professional can actually justify...

And let’s be honest, once you hit €7k all-in for a pair plus the MA1, you’re at a price point where a buyer could just hold off a little longer and buy the ATC SCM25s Mk2 directly. Thoughts?

What's the tiny hole on the side of the KH 350 for?
For mounting on pro stands. The 310a has them too (one on each side), and IIRC its predecessors.

No offense and, really, buy what you want, but if you look for good measurements, like on this site, you'll find better reference points for your decision. I have not seen measurements for the SCM25, but i highly doubt they are better than the KH310 Mk1, let alone Mk2 (I have never seen a really good spinorama measurement for any ATC, Focal or Dynaudio speaker, so i would be very surprised if these were different).
Also, again no offense, but if you are indifferent between KH310 and 8341, i think you maybe don't know yet what you really need? Because these speakers are very different, almost on opposite sides of the spectrum (if you compare strengths and weaknesses). And the SCM20 is also completely different from both.
I understand the frustration about high prices, but the new models just give you more options - the older models are still the same.

seeing the leaked pictures, the kh310 almost looks identical to its predecessor. minimal adjustments on the waveguide and woofer ring.

if the performance is up there, 5000 euros for a pair is ok. although i just saw the mk1 going for 2700 with stands and everything.

I 100% agree that measurements matter. But at the end of the day, you have to actually put hours into a monitor to know if it delivers good results. Fortunately, I’ve spent hands-on time with every speaker I mentioned before, across multiple studios, working on music, mastering, film, and TV, so I’m speaking from actual experience.
Specs are relevant, but they don't always tell the whole story. For instance, on paper, the KH 310 is almost flawless. But in the real world, graphs don't really show how the KH 310 starts to choke internally when you're mixing a Hip Hop trap track with a massive, upfront 808 sub bass. It saturates a little and gets muddy.
On the flip side, mixing rock on ATCs is an absolute game-changer, there's nothing quite like dialing in electric guitars on them. And using Genelec The Ones for film mixing? Simply perfect, regardless of what the measurements say.

At the end of the day, I can easily pull off top-tier work on ATC or Genelec, no issues there. But I have to admit, I'm a big fan of the KH 310's sound profile. That's why I'm tracking the Version 2 so closely to see if they sorted out that muddy bass issue. If they fixed it and the price point makes sense, I’ll pull the trigger on the KH 310 IIs. Otherwise, I’ll just go with the Genelec 8341 + sub combo or some ATC SCM 20s

Actually we don't know what will be the MSRP for the KH310II and KH350.

For the KH 150 the MSRP was 1600€ at the time of the release. Short time after the prices went down. There was one dealer with exceptional low prices down to 1240€.
Now prices are back to 1450€.

So I would recommend not to buy a KH 310II or KH 350 immediately after the release and watch how the prices develop.

The KH310 are IMO an incredible value. Hard to find a better speaker at that price point.

The KH310 II will have less bass distortion and integrated DSP (I guess) - so if that is important to you...

I would go for the KH 350 with the better mid range wave guide. Unfortunately still a conventional monopole requiring EQ and good room treatment.

That’s just my take and some thoughts on the subject :

I’ve been using Neumann monitors for nearly a decade (as Stereo Listener and also Homecinema). In terms of pure sound quality and the value just for the speaker you get for the price, I’m completely sold on them and think the prices are for the 150 & 80 are still pretty fair - 310 & 420 is imo little bit overpriced for that ,,outdated,, tech / age. That said, I do think Neumann has somewhat missed the boat on market trends and all this comes years too late. I mean its middle of 2026...

After all, we’re talking about a manufacturer trying to build an ecosystem = MA 1. That makes it inevitable to compare them with their Finnish competitor. When it comes to building a system, especially for Dolby Atmos (wich is the standard & future movie format) that Finnish competitor simply offers a much wider range of speakers for both home users and professional studios.

I also find it extremely questionable - bordering on ridiculous - to hold a secret event just to unveil some speakers. Just send the units anonymously to studios and release them to the public and dont post a Date - where new products are obviously being presented - and cover all that with an non-disclosure agreement... Or what do you guys think about that ? I find it kind of ridiculous.

In general, i believe Neumann is focusing more on the Asian market, where these products might actually work well. But that’s just a superficial opinion of mine. I simply think that here - especially in Germany - we are further ahead, when it comes to Dolby Atmos, cinema speakers, and cinema calibration. I mean most people know Storm Audio, Trinnov, Dirac A.r.t. etc - Why would you use the M1... it isn't necessarily needed.

The only reason to use the MA 1 is if money is no object or you simply don't have time for manual calibration. Especially considering the new prices for Neumann subwoofers - and the unreleased products - I find the overall system rather unappealing.

I’ll wait some months after the release and see what the pricing turns out to be. But if the new models still rely partly on plastic - just like the previous ones, I don’t see any real advantage over the MK1. I know a lot of people want the MA 1, but paying such a high price just for that... I’m not so sure if its worth it. You could just as well use Dirac ART or something similar.

As I’ve been wrote it already a few months ago, I’m just looking forward to the used market, to find maybe a 420 for a great price when some of the studios sell their ,,old,, Neumann Gear ;-)

I don't understand the negativity. I really spent a lot of time with EQ, but MA1 just gave me the best results. (I have not tried the new Dirac ART yet). Also, as far as i know, Genelec does not have a real 310 competitor. (i think the 8341 is too different). The 350 will be placed against the 8351 though. I don't care for the 310 II, but i expect the 350 to be an almost perfect speaker for almost everyone. I don't know it and i have not been to the listening event, but simply because of what Neumann managed to achieve with the 120 II vs 120 and the 150. The 420 is way too big for most private rooms, even if it were cheaper it is not really attractive for a lot of people, i think.
If my expectations are correct, the only competition for the 350 will be the 8351 and maybe the Mesanovich CDM 65 or much more expensive and sophisticated systems.
All three will have their own pros and cons, but i expect the 350 to be at least the best of the bunch in terms of bass. Also, personally, i just don't enjoy the Genelec sound, so i think it is good to have more options.
I mean, the 350 could be an absolute dream of a speaker with very little disadvantages, for well below 10.000 EUR, or something like half of a D & D 8c.
BTW, the "plastic" comment almost makes me angry. I have both the old metal 120 and the new 120 II and the new model is so much better in every way. I think they almost did wonders in making an already good products much better, and people are moping about "plastic"...

You can buy KH420 new for 4.200 EUR each (Hörzone Munich) - a very good price. Lowest price was 4.000 EUR around April last year.

However, as @DJBonoBobo wrote, they are really huge. And ugly. Had them in my living room and decided against them, despite I really liked their effortlessness even when playing loud.

Regarding the newer smaller models, my only concern would be the unreliability of digital amp modules. At least one could come to that conclusion, reading the many user complaints about failures within and after warranty. Is this still a good investment? And how long term reliable will the larger models be (KH310 II and KH350)?
