Yeah but makes even less sense for customers to encourage higher prices and justifying just about any asking price

My problem is I'm more of a all or nothing kind of guy
So I guess Ill have to wait a few years and buy the flagship model then

You'll be perfectly happy with a pair of 8350s, stepping up to the 8351s like I did will only give you a marginal gain in sound quality, far from 2x better compared to the price difference. Otoh my white 8351s look so much better...

In my experience the 8350 model is one of the best bargain among the whole Genelec line, especially in a small room where they generally don't need a subwoofer.

It's been mentioned many times that 1235A is 45k€/pair, these will not be below that. The spreadsheet is completely out of whack.

They will be around 55-60 a pair.

The 8381 makes not easy.

compared to the other models...

...increasing price
- R&D
- technically superior
- count of drivers and amplifiers
- size/mass of housing
- high SPL
- full range

...decreasing price
- it's not in the flush mount series. Studios with the wish/need of high priced high SPL speakers should mostly have/create the possibility for flush mounting.
- it's in the 'the ones' series: make it sense to have a factor 10 price jump in a product group? Customers will be shocked! (do you read this, Genelec? )
- lower SPL than 1235 and 1236. So not fully equivalent use case.

A solid plan is to get the 8350's and make sure you'll NEVER - EVER listen to anything above them let alone these big boys.
And get them now,prices will go up in no-time.

You are correct. If I could do it over, I would take my 8351b’s in Genelec grey.

It is worse now, because she saw the picture.

She said that I already have two "coffins" in our music/living room. No need to replace them...or her.

She is quite tolerant, I might add, I may want to keep both.
