8381 were indeed angled downward, but they weren't aimed at listener
They’re probably missing the sense of envelopment a wide dispersion speaker gives.horrendous review format there
but its kind of funny how all these experts came to a common conclusion... these are technically amazing but it tends to be a bit emotionless, however you can define 'emotion' in a speaker
I know what you meanI can assume the 8381 is the same as the cast aluminum clam shell Ones. They don't impress with what they do they do the trick with what they don't do.
The best destination I can think of!They should have sent them to me![]()
I'm not that disappointed. Salt adds excitement to food, these guys add it a bit too much and on too many things!I expected them to be blown away
How disappointing
Another thing, see Toole's comments on imaging:I expected them to be blown away
How disappointing
It was interesting hearing the review team's comments on imaging. Imaging is our imagination. It is an interesting trait of the human ego that most of us, most of the time, know how certain things should be. Stereo is no exception. In spite if the fact that recordings are created, by and large, from multi-track tapes (or at least multiple microphones in acoustically foreign environments), many folks persist in believing that two speakers in a room are capable of rendering positions, dimensions, and ambience that, to them, should be perceived as realistic. Fortunately, humans have good imaginations, because occasionally this miserably imperfect system works amazingly well.
Give us some cluesI wouldn’t worry PJ there is about to be a new ‘top dog’ that will make the 8381 look like a child’s plaything.
