New Kii Seven

A single BLT is the thick end of £7k over here, you can use other subs of course just a bit more faff, I believe Kii‘s aim is for a complete Kii ecosystem when their new ’matrix’ box is released.
Keith

What is that?
Fred I don’t know but a front end, cassette player maybe!
A streamer of some sort I expect, I remember when Kii used to exhibit with the Grimm LA1 controller ( Grimm LS1 was Bruno’s first loudspeaker design of course) with the Grimm name covered with sticky tape, those were the days.
Keith

what is the smartest way to combine a subwoofer with this speaker in order to take full advantage of the seven's technology?

That is a good question, has anyone a photograph of the rear of the ‘7’?

So 2x rj45, combined trs/xlr and XLR, I haven’t seen the kii ‘home‘ app do you have that @Pearljam5000 ?
Best,
Keith

I’m dying to know how these measure. Placing these as close to the front as possible, to roughly a foot out is a safe bet (since the woofers are side mounted, you don’t need to factor in the entire length). If you look at measurements of the Three, I’m not convinced they are cardioid to 50 hz like they claim, yet they are highly cardioid at 100 hz.

If the 130 hz claim on the seven is stretching it in a similar way they did with the Three’s, these speakers won’t have a lot of placement options imo. I’ll still be considering since I want speakers to be as close to the front wall as possible anyways

* measurements are typically to the front of the speaker, since that’s where the woofers are usually placed. Not the case with Kii’s, which is a bonus

If dealing with the fact that front wall bounce creates nulls in the low mids or bass is important, how come no one ever discusses the depth dimensions of loudspeaker models, as far as what's the minimal distance one can have the baffle (or center of the driver or whatever the proper measuring point is) from a fiberglass absorption panel?

Does anyone know how these speakers would integrate with a sub? Is the cardioid affected by using HPF (to transition/cross over to the sub)

They don’t have a sub ‘out’ and I believe Kii aren’t going to make the BXT available for them.

Gotcha,

I use Trinnov though, so the way I integrate with a sub is handled, I just don’t know how an active cardioid system will be affected by High Passing them.

Will it lessen the cardioid effect, even though it doesn’t start until 150 hz? That sort of thing. I might reach out to Kii on this

Hard to say without measurements. Likely no problem.

I would assume the easiest best way would be to buy a mini DSP unit and hook the Seven plus the subs into that.

Sub integration ‘should’ be a bog standard feature shouldn’t it?
