Found no thread about it:

"Leading the charge, our new AV processors – available in 16- and 24-channel configurations – and our 16-channel AVR sit at the foundation of a complete JBL Synthesis cinema solution working in perfect harmony with our recently introduced SMA power amplifiers. Digital and analog connectivity including DANTE and AES67 networking combine with HDMI 2.1 video and the latest audio codecs plus Dirac Live ART room correction for full customization"

PreAV with Dirac ART, DTS X Pro and Dante/AES67:
SDP-80 with 24 channels
SDP-60 with 16 channels

Not shure, if the naming is correct, as the SDP-80 model number currently exists as an 36 channel PreAV with trinnov optimizer: https://www.jblsynthesis.com/products/electronics/SDP-80.html

AVR
SDR-40 with 16 channels

In Germany pricing is expected as follows, including Dirac Art:

SDP-80 10.599€
SDP-60 6.199€
SDR-40 7.099€

Pretty interesting?

And then there are also mentioned some AVRs and an PreAV under the brand "Radia AV electronics" (arcam), also found at the links above...

I think my main takeaways are:
  • Samsung/Harman is getting serious about high end home theater electronics. The Arcam thing is clearly the same hardware as JBL but intended to be sold direct instead of JBL being more of an installer brand, a la Onkyo and Integra (side note the new Arcam speakers are clearly inspired by Revel designs)
  • The price floor for a high end AVR or processor is four thousand dollars/euros. I really wonder if they're going to bother with normal person HT gear other than let those JBL receivers tick along.

What's going to be really interesting is how they integrate Denon/Marantz into the mix. Seems like there's a bit of overlap currently between the high end D/M stuff and the lower end Arcam and JBL stuff. Sure hope the D/M stuff predominates in the end.

Aren't the current JBL MA series Class D? I would imagine the lone new AVR coming out (only 1 out of 12 new products from JBL) will be as well.

AFAIK, Denon/Marantz currently don't have any Class D AVR offerings.

Agreed, and it would be nice seeing the D/M AVRs transition to Class D. Great opportunity since Harman has a great deal of expertise with Class D.

Speaking as someone who just recently had to wrestle a 70 pound A1H into place...

The Marantz cinema power amps have transitioned to class D by way of icepower 400a2 modules
