I was originally planning a build thread, but the instructions for these Nilai products are really good. Much better than the ones available for the NC400. Not only is there a comprehensive manual but animated video too. My only gripe was the use of wave washers to fasten the end panels. Hypex tells me they are proven to help ensure the case parts are grounded properly but getting them in place for the back panel is tricky. If they are not properly retained, one or more could end up inside the amp and cause a potential short.
Hypex also has a young builder that has done build reviews and they are posted to diyclassd.com. While no measurements are shown, it does provide a potential buyer with a way to gauge the effort and difficulty level of the DIY task.
Finally, my only real complaint is the very small power switch on the front panel. I think it should be a nicer switch and an override provided for those who might power the amp via a smart power strip. If you have any other questions prior to Amir's review, just let me know!
p.s. should clarify that the build review for the mono amp and preamp were done by Audio Appraisals and the stereo amp is by Alpha Audio. All are useful, just not really needed given the well written instructions.
