I also will be very interested I’d separate modules. I would like to try to fit it in a bit smaller chassis.

I'm assuming they've sent a monoblock to ASR for review? I mean, the marketing payoff is a no brainer.

I’m not sure it’s great marketing.

Everyone who’s ever purchased from Hypex previously were emailed about this upcoming release.

Most ASR members want a plug and play solution.

There is that camp, but also those of us that are stoked for either these Nilai Modules or the new N-CoreX and seeing what comes with those!
Putting together a DIY Amp with these is simple. If you know how to use a Screwdriver, Wrench, and can plug Quick Connects together... you pretty much have it. Maybe Soldering to the IEC and Output Terminal of Choice for those getting "fancy...," perhaps. :)
These are not First Watt Kits, afterall. ;)

That's why I'm saying. If it's just connecting wires and putting it in the supplied enclosure, then what's wrong with the datasheet/measurements that Hypex supplies? They also have an Audio Precision.

Take a look at the NC400 datasheet from 2012 and have a look at the measurements from ASR from Dec 2018.

I honestly don't see the point unless Amir can provide new or different data. Maybe it's the panther..

I find the (modular) preamp concept quite interesting as well.
What I would also be interested in:
- Dimensions of the case ?
- are the knobs made of cheap plastic (they look like it) ?
- how does the display (in operation) look like (no photos to see)?
- how is the operating concept / menu navigation realized (no operating instructions to be found)?
- is the volume control knob just an encoder?
- how is the volume controlled within the analogue domain (e.g. kind of R2R-ladder) ?
- is the 4-pin HP output balanced ?
- Etc. ...

maybe we should start an extra thread for this Hypex "DIY PreAmplifier kit" ?

Can the new Nilai500DIY be operated with the old NC400 SMPS600N400 power supply?
It is not one on one compatible. You could make it work but we highly recommend to use the new PS500 DIY as well for optimal performance.

Amir will definately get a set of Nilai500 mono kits and als a DIY pre amplifier kit. Nothing shipped yet to any reviewer. will be shipped around the same time as the pre orders we now received.

Good questions:
- Dimensions of the case ?
You can find this at the bottom of all specs on the shop
- are the knobs made of cheap plastic (they look like it) ?
Definately no plastic. the kknobs are made of alluminium.
- how does the display (in operation) look like (no photos to see)?
the user manual will come in a few days as well.
- how is the operating concept / menu navigation realized (no operating instructions to be found)?
the user manual will come in a few days as well.
- is the volume control knob just an encoder?
Yes, both knobs are encoders
- how is the volume controlled within the analogue domain (e.g. kind of R2R-ladder) ?
With the encoder we digitally control the switching of resistor values in the analogue gain stage.
- is the 4-pin HP output balanced ?
Yes
- Etc. ...

thanks a lot @Hypexsales for your very helpful answers

- Dimensions of the case ?
You can find this at the bottom of all specs on the shop
from your website:

DIY PreAmplifier kit:
Dimensions: 417mm*72mm*340mm
Weight: 5kg

Nilai500DIY 250W stereo kit:
Dimensions: 420mm*300mm*80mm
Weight: 560g

Is it correct that the preamp weighs almost 10 times as much as the stereo power amp ?
