New Headphone Coming from Dan Clark Audio (DCA)

They want to make the line longer. There will be joy for fans of specific science fiction TV shows.

All I can tell is that the news will be released soon enough.

Do you already have them in and have them measured? Simply keeping watch for the embargo to end?

They aim to expand the line. Fans of certain science fiction TV series will be happy.

That is all I can say. :) News will be out soon enough.....
Give us a clue what SciFi :)

Hifiman HE1000 v2/SE and Hifiman Susvara. You can google about dynamics. let me help you out And then you might watch some Resolve videos where he compares some DCA cans versus Audeze cans.

Hifiman HE-6 series are probably very good. I didn't get to hear one of them yet. I only know their prices dropped hard.
Yes, but by what metrics might you measure the "dynamics" of headphone A vs B in that context? If it is different between headphones and capable of being consistently heard, it must be measurable. So what test could be undertaken?

Interesting product, on occasion I will certainly listen to.
However, I fear that it will be another typical DCA softie.
Like other DCAs, which I have heard so far.
For vocals, jazz, etc. great, but for rock, edm and so on, only conditionally suitable.
Therefore, probably nothing for me.

If you then add the price, the competition is in my opinion almost at a loss, since the he1000 V2 is new for 2000 to have...

Perhaps the fundamentally sound and age old test of "Can you hear me?"

Appreciate the link but I'm more interested in what metrics you, specifically, are using to define "dynamics"? I ask because, even in your link, there is no agreed upon objective definition making it difficult to compare. If we accept it as dynamic range (I have no idea if you do), typically sensitivity becomes a variable and Susvara is quite poor in that regard.

So what test could be undertaken?
Beats me. Hopefully someone can find out how to "measure" it. I only got the EARS and what do you expect from it?

Ah ok, I was hoping it would be something a bit more affordable. Looking forward to seeing measurements though.

Me too... something with Stealth DNA for under $1k. I'm ok with buying used gear... but not headphones... so even at a "discount" these will never be within my reach. Especially since I own a pair of DCA X for under $400 that I really like... hard to justify something 10x more $.

Sadly I dont think that was ever going to happen when you look at the product line- with the Stealth tech only a year or so old. The Ethers are £2k and the newer Aeon 2 are in that c$1k bracket. Anything new and exciting was going to be at least more than the Ether- or maybe replacing the Ether at that £2k point.

Agreed, my limit on a headphone is 1k too big a risk to take should they fail after warranty and be out of pocket so much.

Of course you're right... however in that narrow window between Amir's initial tease and reality bursting the bubble... there was a fleeting irrational, subjective wisp of self delusion... waiting for the ASR "faithful" to snap me out of it. I like both the short term delusion and the long term snapping out of it... like salty pretzels with sweet ice cream... lol. As long as the ice cream costs $4k... I don't have to worry about the calories... lol.
