I just read this new thread and I guess we'll have to read here a lot of pure speculations about what will be this upcoming new main monitor before september 30th.
Vain exercise but fun...
I hope those who (pretend to) know something will be more lucky with Genelec than with Neumann.
Anyway, for sure Genelec is the king of teasing, a sort of an exception among the pro audio brands !

could be. or maybe not.

if it’s coax mains, they might place it in the 8xxx family as model “8371” suggested earlier. kinda like the giant 8381 mains. that would pretty much complete the 8xxx coax family. or it could be placed back in the 1xxx family.

8381A is kind of hybrid, not exactly mains despite the size and was born out of the necessity for mobility.
Mains are mend to be soffit-mountable, etc.

Genelec makes heavy duty speakers for monitoring. It is a speaker concept familiar to us Finns since at least the 1990s. That is, a monitoring speaker, that was the official name.

So you follow and focus and hear everything essential with these special tools, which are used to record great and less great music in every single country on earth and different people for their own citizens. A working speaker where the sound output characteristics are as pure as possible and the sound image is as true to our perceived reality, i.e. realism.

Even the stupidest person already realizes that millions of different variants of glm/dsp software have the ability to modify the sound image and the nature of the sound structure to suit your own taste, which is why these speakers are also called chameleon speakers by some.

To make it bigger in available space. Btw, I switched woofer, used the one from 1238a . Guess why.
