New Fiio Jade Audio Level 1 TPA3255 amplifier with DAC, PEQ, sub-out, BT 6.0 LDAC

Fosi has their own sub so lately I'm seeing them put in high passes and sub outs. Which is GREAT but I just need a dac/pre amp. It's definitely nice to see fiio put a sub out and I have hopes for the future.
We'll have to hope that their new Q8 preamp scratches all the itches... due out in August.

It also looks like the English site is up and running now. https://www.jadeaudio.com/J1?product_id=91&_l=en
Nice looking box. Spiritual successor to my old Realistic mini-amp? :D

Yeah I've also been keeping up with their community forum about this and I saw their display on YouTube from their axpona. Looks pretty good and promising just a tad large of a unit

Vintage vibes, Small Size and some practically useful features

This is one good looking amplifier.

This is really this small comparison to what it is making sing at the moment:
Fiio Jade Level 1 on Mofi.JPG

They have done few things smartly:
- Volume Knob also function to change input (quick press)
- Fiio Control app also has input selector
- LED behind volume knob isn't just for decor, different colors indicate different inputs and BT codec in use
- Bass & Treble knobs has center detent, makes it easy to set to bypass (or zero)
- All pots have very smooth operation, feels good quality
- Fiio Control app has volume limit function
- 31-band PEQ could be setup with Fiio Control app, can be applied to stereo (both channels) only
- LED could be disabled with Fiio Control app, if it bothers

Quick look at Fiio Control App run through

Stock Power Supply - look at the safely certs

Fiio Jade Level 1 - PSU.JPG

This amplifier does support more powerful PSU:

Idle Power Comsumption
I have it hooked up with Mofi Sourcepoint 8 speakers with 48v/10a PSU.
Idle: 9 watts

Running to slightly louder than my usual levels, I see it jumping to 10 - 11 watts with some bass heavy tracks.

Thermals
There aren't any vents/holes in the case for ventilation, but still the bottom plate is slightly warm in use so far.

Hiss, Noise, Pop
- No hiss/noise on speakers on full power
- No pop on power on/off
- It takes a second to power UP after power toggle turned ON, most likely delayed power on/off operation

USB C input allowed me to connect it directly to nVidia Shield Pro

and... so far, so good!

-----------------------------------
I will check on SW and pre-out over the weekend.
--------
P.E.
Some more Measured Parameters:
Gain: 29dB
SW Out Max: 2 V, variable with volume control knob
Pre-Out Max: 1.52 V, variable with volume control knob
……………….

Enjoy.....

Thanks for the info. I'm glad you can change the input on the unit, as for some reason I thought you could only do so with the app. It's a nice looking unit!

Some quick measurements
RCA Pre-Out, Max Volume = 1.52 Volts

Thank you @Guddu, what is your assessment of these Measures....

Thank you @Guddu, what is your assessment of these Measures....
It would be in the yellow area on Amir's amp SINAD charts. It would be somewhat below the average of all amps ever tested but not terrible (more than half of the amps test better). This amp is not exceptional.

Those quick measurements are for it’s DAC only, not the power amplifier.
Pre-out are most likely to be used for subwoofer which should be okay to me.

From Fiio’s website:

This also should get SINAD around 66dB.

Thank you, @TurtlePaul, Yes but would have been nice to read @Guddu's assessment :=)
It also suggests, no PFFB is utilised, doesn't it, which further implys Load Dependency/Variance?

Thank you, @Guddu, you did not mention/indicate, so Amp assumed :=)
Not a good DAC is it?

This might be their attempt to PFFB but not 100% sure.

Pre-Out frequency sweep looks pretty fine to me, less than -0.5dB between 10-15K and -1dB at 20K should not be anything to be worried about.
But again, this is for its pre-out.

Advertised distortion is suspiciously high for the class.
300 watts is a marketing number, so there are 10% distortions. It could have been written as 180 watts and 0.7%, but how magical are numbers?)

As usual an average company misses the nail with a simple fucking bass management feature. Why even include sub outs if you can't high pass. Companies never just learn.
The Hi pass filter is optional, it is enough to adjust the crossover of your subwoofer according to the natural roll-off of your stereo pair's frequency response

Looks pretty cool
