New Dutch&Dutch loudspeakers.

Thank you very much. I would really appreciate more transparency at this point. Other manufacturers are more generous in sharing information (for example Ascilab or Sigberg Audio) on the development of new speakers.
At least they could share a date when more information will be available.
Though Keith teased the news and the manufacturer didn’t. So these are still rumours in that sense. If D&D teased it and didn’t share anything it would be different.

The designs will appear there is no doubt about that, Martijn prefers discretion and I respect that.
Keith

Hopefully a working sub out will be implemented.
They do already have ‘sub out’ what’s missing is the ability to eq.
Keith

There is more need for a sub because these won’t be fullrange I guess. But the Kii Sevens don’t have a sub out either if I’m right.

I believe Kii wanted to differentiate between the Three/BXT and the Seven so the bXTs can’t be used with them which to me appears odd.
‘Lifestyle’ only?
Keith

Hi all,

Usually I don't share this kind of information. But given the fact that the rumors are out there, I feel the need to shine some light on the topic.
I can confirm that Dutch & Dutch are working on a new product, something smaller than the 8C.

What I can say is that, for those who want a bigger speaker capable of playing full range, the Dutch & Dutch 8C will still be the way to go.
Over the years, we have received tons of request of doing a smaller speaker.

  • A speaker that could work in a surround/atmos constellation.
  • A speaker that could be carried around more easily, for artist/sound engineers working in different locations.
  • For an audience that simply does not want/need a full range speaker as the Dutch & Dutch 8C.
  • A smaller speaker for domestic users that finds the 8C´s a bit too big for their living rooms.

The speaker will ofc have the Dutch & Dutch DNA, and all the good stuff that comes with that.

I can't share any dates. I just wanted to share some important information and the differences of the two products.

Please consider those who appreciate fullrange in one enclosure (without sub) but don't need more than 85 to 90 dBA output.

Personally, it took me two weeks to recover from the blow. No new flagships for us guys, it's over!

This thread may be a bit early, but we are still actively working on a new flagship product. Our goal is to create the best monitor in the world, designed for use in studios and larger living spaces. This is far from over, it's just the beginning!

New 8c owner; what do I need to buy to be fully up and running?

I just purchased a pair of D&D 8Cs, and the height adjustable custom Sound Anchor stands. I ordered the BACCH plugin. I will be streaming mostly Roon. I also have a WiiM Ultra I'd like to integrate. I will order the RooExtend box and one of the hardware volume control solutions such as the RooMax hardware volume control device. I will have D&D do the REW remote provisioning. Question:
    • GAIA isolators; which model do I need and what thread size for the sound anchor stands? Any better options?
    • Should I order any other gear right now (cables, etc)?
    • Any other suggestions appreciated. Thank you

You don't need isolators with sound anchor stands.
If you use the Wiim you'll need rca to xlr adapter for analog. You'll need an impedance converter for 75 Ohm coax to 110 Ohm AES/EBU if you go digital.
