New Dutch&Dutch loudspeakers.

Of course!
Not much point in having lovely preamp controls then using a grotty remote with gash controls IMHO

It is an industry wide problem few have addressed. And putting the grotty remote in a heavy machined box to make it seem good is even worse.
I’m 100% with you on the rotary volume wireless remote. I’m using Surface Dial with Roon right now. Works pretty well though there are some issues that are currently being worked on. If you have a Roon ready pre, you can use it to control volume when you’re not listening to Roon. There is a new remote solution that @DrCWO is working that hopefully will improve performance.

Therein lies the reason I haven't bought 8Cs from you.
Everything about them appeals, pistonic drivers, clever engineering but I want to play CDs, LPs and classical music and have a rotary volume control so without that capability they have not been an option which I am genuinely disappointed and sad about.
Surface dial and an ADC would not be too expensive

Ah, so you want a REMOTE with a rotary knob?
I have wanted to use something like this to put at the listening position.

A few alternatives are discussed there

I assume you have some version of the Devialet Expert Pro? It appears that it can actually be configured to have RCA preouts, so in theory you could use those to connect to active speakers and still control the volume from the Devialet.

Yes you can configure it like that and you would keep quite a few of its good features but not ADH.
I have an Original d’Atelier which would be an expensive pre!

I cancelled Roon after the free trial, pretty well useless fo classical music, like all streaming programmes and file structure based on artist/album/song format.
I am totally happy with the Devialet solution, have looked into everything I have seen and the only one with any promise for my use is the Kii controller which is wired but also tied to one speaker.
I quite liked the engineering of the Dutch&Dutch 8C but I liked the engineering of the Devialet Phantoms too, bought them, like them but rarely use them because they use a phone or tablet interface to control.

I have used active speakers in my surround system for 20 years or so have tolerate button volume on the surround pre. Nothing touches the Devialet for actual use and I listen to music massively more than I watch video.

I should have taken some screen shots of the ‘6’, I have some images of the large ones but can’t risk excommunication.
2.1 metres and 400kg.

Careful Keith, the black helicopters are over your house ;)

What’s the worst that can happen, I suppose I could be left pinned under a sub/cardioid section.
Best,
Keith

I am drip feeding them MKR in the hope that Martijn will be too busy to notice.
I actually saw the ‘6’ in his room!
I hadn’t realised the design had progressed.

Woaa that's real info here ! And it can ends the wait/hope for some as it's so huge, even with a decent price, not everyone wants this kind of massive speaker in his living room, I certainly do not. Thanks

I have been wanting one of those for years!!

It sure is pretty nice, but I'm not sure I would use it as a dealbreaker for getting new gear. :)

From the forum description:

"If you are a member of the audio/video industry and want to post information about your products (announcements, getting product feedback, etc.)..."

This isn't posting information, it is starting a thread and then intentionally not providing information. By the OP's/dealer's own admission, they aren't going to talk about it yet. Do they expect other people who have information to talk about it? Presumably those are also individuals who have been asked not to discuss what they know.

Then why not wait and actually share something? How do you start a discussion by providing no information and refusing to share what you know with the community?

You described a speaker as a community member's "wet dream." How is that not hyping a product?
I completely agree with everything you're saying. Look at my history and I have said something similar before. Keith, and another member I will not mention, in this thread have been promoting the existence of new D&D products for months, followed up by saying they aren't allowed to say anything. It absolutely feels like baiting and then they can be the dealer in charge once it comes to market. Wish I were an audio dealer on here because I feel like it's free promotion and skews objective impressions of equipment in favor of sales.

I don't even know what the replies of just "!" are.
