New Dutch&Dutch loudspeakers.

Well, at least it's the Desperate Dealer Forum: why are you complaining?
From the forum description:

"If you are a member of the audio/video industry and want to post information about your products (announcements, getting product feedback, etc.)..."

This isn't posting information, it is starting a thread and then intentionally not providing information. By the OP's/dealer's own admission, they aren't going to talk about it yet. Do they expect other people who have information to talk about it? Presumably those are also individuals who have been asked not to discuss what they know.

Really I would love to discuss them, Martijn asked me not to at least just not yet.
I don’t believe I am ‘hyping’ just mentioning a new speaker that will be available soon.
Keith
Then why not wait and actually share something? How do you start a discussion by providing no information and refusing to share what you know with the community?

You described a speaker as a community member's "wet dream." How is that not hyping a product?

Not sure who is hurt here or what the deal is?

C’mon … this is a fun speculative thread … live and let live … have some fun …

@Purité Audio has been posting since ASR launched. He is as much, if not more, an active member as he is a dealer.

Let it go.

8381 size and price ?
I am not sure I should ‘not’ say any more but the big ones are utterly ridiculous, main monitors yes, they will be everything anyone could ever want from a loudspeaker.
Designed to show what a loudspeaker design can do without constraint.
Not in a ‘bling’ way but purely in terms of ultimate sound quality.
I didn’t discuss technical spec of the ‘6’ we just discussed how it sounded compared to the 8Cs , Martijn had the two sets of speakers set up next to each other.
I apologise if I was over excited it was just enthusiasm I hadn’t spoken to Martijn for a while and hadn’t realised the design had progressed as quickly as it has.
It is an exciting time for loudspeaker design.

I apologize for criticising a member of ASR's good ol' boys club. I never claimed they weren't a member. I asked if others shared my feelings. You'd think members who have been here for so long would be held to higher standards than literally starting threads about anticipated speakers with just a punctuation mark, refusing to share what they know with the community, then hyping them up for sales.

Disclaimer: I represent a manufacturer, so I am also not "just" a member.
Disclaimer #2: I know / have a professional relationship with @Purité Audio

I participate in many forums, and one interesting, and perhaps natural observation is that regular members often forget that people who represent manufacturers, retailers or other members of the industry, they are well, people too.

They/We are also often audio enthusiasts. So for you this is a hobby. For us this is a job AND a hobby. That makes for some blurred lines, and can make it hard to understand the agenda sometimes. I can be on this forum discussing subwoofers because it's an interesting topic. I can also be here promoting our own subwoofers in the hopes of added sales. It's certainly on us as industry persons to be as explicit as possible about when we're doing what.

So while I can certainly understand your reaction and interpretation of this thread, I think Keith (@Purité Audio) is genuinely enthusiastic about the new Dutch&Dutch model, which is why he posted this thread. Probably also in anticipation of being able to share more in this thread as he is allowed to do so by Dutch&Dutch. Also since at least most regulars here already know that he retails the D&D, any hidden agenda is not very hidden. :)

He's hyping it and it's fine.

But if too many manufacturers/dealers did it, it would bury the other "new activity" on the home page, which is really the only way I can think of this doing any harm.

So Keith, how much are allowed to share? Spill the beans !

I completely understand that you're also hobbyists and I'm glad that dealers/manufacturers such as yourself and @Purité Audio share and contribute as much as you do to this community. I read 100x more than I post.

I feel like you partially addressed this by saying they'll share more in the future, but it still feels like information is being dangled over the community as bait. In your examples, you're discussing something, you're adding to the conversation. This intentionally doesn't. I get being excited. I get wanting to talk about it. The fact that most regulars know he has insider knowledge about the upcoming D&D speakers is part of what makes him starting the thread so distasteful to me. It's like if some former director of the CIA went on some conspiracy forum to promote their book titled "The True Identity of the Zodiac Killer" and the first page was blank and the second one was a single line that said "I'm not allowed to talk about this yet." It just feels wrong. Obviously it's not that serious and the answer is Ted Cruz, but you get what I mean.

Dutch & Dutch has been talking about releasing a new speaker for years. Let me underline that. Years. They did so modestly, not making promises.

This is the first time we have something confirmed by a reliable person. There is value here.

I'm old enough that I can keep my excitement in check.

Apologies if the thread has caused upset, really nothing would give me greater pleasure to divulge all I know which is far from complete.
There are two new measurement led D&D designs in the pipeline, I don’t have all of the details but I am sure that they will not disappoint.
Keith

@Flexecutioner , I understand. But if it bothers you so much, the simplest and most efficient way to resolve it is for you not to read it.
Not sure why this is a go-to response for some users of this forum and it's an especially strange response to me saying I feel baited by a lack of information. Sure, next time I see a thread about a topic I'm interested in posted by someone who I know has information, I'll not open it and not read the no information that's been posted there??? Like what are you suggesting? We're all here to read.

But the information you are seeking is simply not available yet. However, now you can subscribe to this thread, and you are likely to be among the first in the world to know. Good, yes?
