New Dutch&Dutch loudspeakers.

There are active SPDIF converters such as the Mutec -1.1+ or Hosa CDL-313 or Hosa ODL312 or passive options such as Neutrik NADITBNC-MX or Canare BCJ-XP-TRC. It seems to me simpler is better thus passive might be a better option, but seeking opinions from the experts before I mail order a bunch of gear.
I was faced with the need for the complementary device (convert AESD/EBU to S/PDIF) and almost everyone I consulted advised me to use a passive device. I purchased several of them and all worked well up to 24/192. OTOH, some of the active ones were not capable of more than 24/96 due, obviously, to the active circuitry.

Looking at Dutch and Dutch site they recommend using a transformer . Probably either one would work so I would try a passive Neutrik.

Using S/PDIF with your 8c's

The correct way of using the 8c's with an S/PDIF output, is by means of an impedance transformer.

Wow, thank you, I can't believe I missed this official documentation. Thank you!

Many (most?) of the passives are transformer-based.

Hi All, I got the NEutrik passive 75 to 110 ohm converter and the Wiim Ultra is working great with the 8Cs. I also got a 75ohm rated rca to bnc converter. Thank you all for the help!

An "impedance transformer" is a transformer.
Yes, I was referring to this link of adapters I saw in a previous post.
Not to be confused with their transformers.

??? See your own link.

They're all BNC to XLR there isn't a RCA to XLR passive transformer which is what I said, at least I've never seen one.
Not sure if there's any passive with RCA 75 Ohm to AES/EBU 110 Ohm transformers .

They need an RCA adapter to work with the Wiim which it seems he got.

You're welcome.
