New dap - factory ford issue

I’m trying to figure out what I need to be able to play my fiio m21/m23 through my factory system (sync 1).

The first dap isn’t recognized at all. I picked up a m23 to see if that would work and it seems like the factory system does seem to at least recognize that something is plugged in but it doesn’t play.

I tried a few 3.5mm to usb A cables but they don’t work either. I’m wondering if replacing the deck is the only option.

You'd have to check your owner's manual, or maybe there's a Ford, or Ford-audio forum...

Does it have Bluetooth or an analog input? Bluetooth is "the standard" in cars these days.

I'd guess the USB port is for a thumb drive. And there are usually limitations on formats and fille size so you'd have to check that too.
