yeah, maybe a second hand one that i can sell on, or a new one from a shop which has a decent return policy...

thanks, yes, I'm still not sure if DAC's do anything really? seems to be a 50/50 split from what I've seen online, but it's one of the few items i haven't tried...

i do have a mid range system and i don't think there's any difference between my node (amazon music) and my cdp which is the Cairn Fog v2.0 Soft 24/192..

Some people will adamantly push the idea that everything affects the sound despite good evidence that it cannot and should not affect the sound. Replacing one good DAC with another is a good example of where this narrative pops up.n fancy cables are another.

The people saying this are half right. Due to placebo effect / cognitive bias, everything they do does affect the sound - as they hear it - even though nothing actually changed. They insist it's not placebo, but you'll also notice they don't bother to prove it's not, 99.999% of the time.

On ASR we simply acknowledge that nobody is immune to placebo effect, so basic listening tests can be misleading, and we don't advise people to spend money so they can experience placebo effects.

i have the slightly new n130 which is better than that one (which i also owned)... but as some things do confirm - forums haven;t changed much since i last used them..

i actually was looking at their emtbs but their wasn't much info on them... the canyon at the time (2021) only came in 2 colours - the blue, and a red and dark grey...
