Yeah I know mate... price wise, but I mean more performance wise. Would probably wipe the floor on an AP compared to anything else on SP's list.

Using copious amounts of feedback in lowpass filters (=resonance ) is actually a useful technique for your synthesizer patch really becoming alive. Infact it's the sign of a good design when the filter offers stable self-oscillation.

Sure, resonance without damping = high Q. Great for your effects pedal or whatever. Is that the product in question here???
Resonance with some damping = controlled Q peak. This is the type of response that the amplifier designer is after.
Resonance and lots of damping = premature rolloff.
