That's correct. You'd need either an active sub, or a separate amplifier for the passive sub to take the line level signal and amplify it to drive the passive subwoofer.

You could just use a 2nd one, most 3255 based amps do over 250W (some over 300-340W..) at 2 ohms

Safer bet, but I don't think anyone above age 30 will hear any difference between these two amps. Brzhifi probably isn't as flat in the upper treble..but we don't know yet

I don't hear any difference to my yamaha A-S501 either. At least at normal listening levels anyway.

Update from BRZ; said they will hold off on sending any existing models, they want to send something they are working on currently and will update when ready.

Would really like to see some measurements. If it's better than the Fosi v3 stereo in the same price region. Or closer to the 3e audio A7 amps.

I see the Brzhifi offer available to order on Ali atm.

No remote support. Turn up the volume and control the volume with a decent DAC or pre-amp...

See it as a poweramp. Volume control is for your pre-amp/DAC/streamer.

Sounds like they might have trouble with their current models? Or at least that's how I would interpret such an update.

like i get that people here do not like BRZ Weilang... they are known to make some quite nonsensical audiofool boxes

i'm pretty sure they do that 1969 class A john curl 'inspired' (???) 20w space heater in a gold box and they do a slew of tube nonsense

but for $99 a dual chip w/ PFFB single box seems to be a lot of engineering for the money especially today were $99 buys you nothing of consequence any more

i dont expect XLR... I mean come on now

they could lose the vol. knob too but perhaps they know how precarious chinese preamp dacs are vis a vis vol. control

just find a nice china dac preamp streamer w/ remote and you are done

12v trig. and preout is icing

i'm expecting 80w per channel 8 ohm? a single TPA3255 should be pretty sufficient for one channel

those internal pics also look very clean

It's 20 € more than the proper psu for it. I'll give it a try.

It has no balanced option, gain adjustment, opamp bypass, volume bypass like a 3e - but for a garage project, what can possibly go wrong.
