NEW BRZHifi PAD-30 : Dual TPA3255 +PFFB @ $99

niche case features like support for a passive sub.
another use case is bi-amping - the main L/R channels will sound better with less distortion with high-pass filter applied and you can use the sub-out to drive sub-bass drivers if you speakers are setup that way. Mine are DIY and I'm thinking of adding bass augmentation/sub drivers. Mono doesn't really matter at low freq so it's just a matter if the combined impedance.

Less power, more distortion, no possibility for PFFB. Nice chip, but difficult to share enthusiasm of reviewer.
well he's actually heard it - maybe that's why his enthusiasm? ;)

the power/distortion subject - to help here you'd use it in desktop/near-field listening or use speakers with higher sensitivity.

PFFB isn't needed if it sounds good without it.

Sure, adding a sub with proper high pass filtering for the mains is a good thing. But it's best left to a digital pre-processor that gives you variable control over the crossover frequency and delay (a d ideally selectable filter slopes).

What sounds good to one person might just be technically bad or simply undistinguishable from other amps in a controlled and level matched test. ;)

Hi amigos
Just to share I found this new dual TPA3255 + PFFB. The price seems very attractive. Makes me think the 3E Audio A7 BTW.
...
@daniboun,
The table included in your original post has the last 2 columns labeled "Mono Rated Output Power" and "Mono Max Output Power".
I am trying to speculate as to why:
*Are these bridgeable L/R output stages?
Nice find. Just make it, or add, balanced and I’m in.
*Can you -in essence- buy a pair and turn them into a balanced dual-mono operation by reversing the input polarities?

As far as I understand each channel is fully independant. You have one Tpa3255 chip by channel.... So you could use one amp as a mono block using only left channel or right channel for each block

Hello.
I would appreciate owner's feedback with regard to this amp.
Any hum or hiss with volume on full ?
Any heat dissipation issue ?
Subjective sound impression ?
Thank you

No hiss or volume I have noticed with volume on full.

It does get pretty toasty during operation but not “hot” or anything. I will check with my infrared thermometer one of these days. There is no Auto off, so you do have to turn it off on your on which can be annoying. There is a 12v trigger but that seems to be just to turn on.

I have them driving the Philharmonic Super Mini and couldn’t tell any difference in sound between this and what was powering them previously, pair of Fosi V3 Monoblocks.

Hello monsterlag, Thanks you for the post.
You said it is toasty. Can you touch the casing for 5 secs ?

Right now it's €94,77 with a 48V5A PSU, with the anniversary sale and a coupon code - I don't know what to expect, but that is pretty low.
The non-PFFB Fosi BT20A Pro with PSU is just €8 less.
The nearly equivalent 3E A7 (except for the balanced ins) is €284 with PSU.
We shall see.
@monsterlag any chance to show us an internal photo?

Just received mine from AliExpress. Overall, quite impressed with the build quality, it's solid metal. The interior looks really neat as well. The caps and coils are much more solid than I first thought they would be, but you judge for yourself – images attached.
For 94 EUR including shipping and a 48V 5A power supply, this is really hard to beat.

I didn't have time to properly listen to it yet, I just blocked it into test for DOA, and listen to a track on my tiny old Tesla speakers. I don't really know what to expect, as this is my first class D amp. @daniboun if you can suggest a few things to test or look out for, that would be amazing.

Thanks for the pictures , it looks pretty well designed for the price! I have to admit the case looks sturdy and the PCB seems great too! I hope you can share your detailed impressions of the sound with us now =)

@daniboun I will share some subjective impressions no problem, but how do I quantify its performance? I want to test it properly to see if it is doing better/worse/same than the usual suspects, the 3E-Fosi-Aiyima-Douk-Ampapa lot. As I mentioned before, I've only used high quality vintage AB amps thus far - I don't even know what to look for in class D.
