NEW BRZHifi PAD-30 : Dual TPA3255 +PFFB @ $99

I have the 3e A7 after Fosi V3 but how about the new chip TAS5827.
TI digital amplifier chips, which takes digital input directly, are yet to make appearance in market and probably SMSL making entry with this DA100.
TAS5830 might make replacement for TPA3250/51 being in around similar output power range but TAS5827 is pretty low power amplifier chip and might be more practically suited for small active desktop speakers, soundbars and computer speaker type products.

Thank you, @Guddu, Yes, no DAC required although ADC required.... very impressive, very Novel :=)

Well, I received mine. Have only briefly tested with a 48v / 10A PSU. It has some channel imbalance at lower level, have it connected at desktop currently.
The unit is quite heavy, the metal is quite thick. Only ventilation holes by the sides, nothing under or over, but it gives a quality impression..

Pop suppression is good at start up, a bit louder when turning off but not a very deep sound as with some other amps

An ADC is already build into the DA 100.

Still not compelling at all. As has been said, lower power, higher distortion, niche case features like support for a passive sub. It might be OK for a kid's room (if it's safe), but the kids don't care about Hi-Fi.

I love these innovative advancements in technology! I mean, who knew!? I thought that convection was settled science! silly me...
;)

EDIT: In fairness, as long as it's mounted sideways, with some space 'underneath', i.e., on the downhill side, it'll convect just fine... :)

Less power, more distortion, no possibility for PFFB. [...]
I can see the advertisements now! :)

Can we crowdfund one for Amir to review? It just takes 10 people to chip in $10 each lol

I'd be up for it. Since I have an unit (but I'm in Europe)

Looks promising. There is a TAS3251 which seem to be the digital version of TPA3251. Wondering whether these TAS chips will replace TPA chips in the near future. If they are popular, TI will probably make TPA3255 successors (with PFFB built in would be even better.)

Right now digitally controlled class-D amps are not popular with technology leaders Purifi and Hype. ;)

Digital input class-D amps are absolutely not the natural evolution of analog input class-D amps. Bruno Putzeys has written quite a bit about why they suck. :D That doesn't mean he didn't work on such designs.

I don't know how PFFB could be integrated into the chip if the PCB layout and output filter design isn't known beforehand and absolutely frozen. That doesn't.ake sense to me.

I don't think the industry wants to people to have everything all in one either, they still want to sell the latest DAC model. And I don't mind, I hope someone is developing a model with room correction and included microphone

Set up a small Wiim Pro Plus + this amp. Seems to pair great. There doesn’t seem to be a volume bypass so I have set the amps volume to max and adjusting volume via the Wiim.

https://brzhifi.com/ Put PAD-30 in the "Search" box and nothing drops out.

Home page shows a DAC flying the "Weiliang Audio" flag.

However, interesting discounts and reduced shipping charges on AliExpress for other BRZhifi products.,

The safest combination is likely set the volume to max 70-80% and then adjust the rest with the Wiim

You set amp volume to get minimal noise at your prefered sound level. If you don't hear any noise, then you set volume to get convenient control range from Wiim.

My friend, I'm interested in this amp from BRZHIFI, could i ask a question that the volume knob is also a power button when u push and hold for seconds for on and off, or turn a circle from zero and has a click sound to power on? And did u try 12v trigger on it? tks!

Not a power button, if you turn it to zero there is a click sound which turns the unit off
(I haven't tried the trigger)

Oh, i'm so confused how to use 12V trigger power on/off if the volume knob have to turn to zero to power off... hmmm... I want to buy 3 or 4 of this amp to pair with my 7.1.2 AVR and using 12V trigger to power on these amps at a same time.

but TAS5827 is pretty low power amplifier chip and might be more practically suited for small active desktop speakers, soundbars and computer speaker type products.
well of course not if you have high sensitivity speakers. I do, so I'm very interested to try this.
