I take it with humor. I would take a different speaker and build a house around it for this price. Nothing new, it is a d'Appolito design and I have such a speaker type from the company T+A as of 1986 which works pretty soundy even today.

4.5 inch drivers???? Might be a tough sale for half a million dollar with such small drivers.

You would have to sit pretty far for them to integrate I imagine.

Seems weird to spread not all that much diaphragm area over a lot of space. The four woofers have 410cm³ area, so roughly equivalent to two 6.5" units.
So despite taking up a lot of space effectively these aren't very large speakers.

Makes the Genelec 8381A seem like a bargain at US$32,000/each.
The funny thing is that the Børresen are almost 10 times more expensive but from technical point of view 10 times inferior, this mad audiophool world is such a joke...:p

For half a mil I would demand demolishing levels capabilitty and power management of thousands of watts and I don't see that happen with the tinny drivers it uses for lows.

I bet they're going for the ultra-thin look, and willing to compromise on practical engineering.

It would be a bummer to spend half a million to get the “best there is” only to have them introduce the M6.2 next year.

Luckily, I'm not sure anyone would think it's the best at anything, except maybe skinniness.

The money to buy a pair of these things can set up an immersive system consisting of 8381A.
Yes, or any number of really good speakers. That perhaps aren't as skinny.
