He didn’t just join it he started it, thank goodness he did, just imagine Hi-Fi without ASR.

Those were the days , the FBI , the fanny doctor and amirm on the run from the WBF mob .

How it's not been made into a Netflix movie I don't know .

FBI I have heard of but I don’t recollect the ‘fanny doctor’ and I would think I might.
Very nice to see you ( virtually) Thomas.
Best,
Keith

Lots of people don't know that ASR has its roots in WBF. I found my way here after noticing that Amir was missing. I asked around and was told that he's gone off to make his own forum. I did a bit more googling to find out where he had gone, then signed up to ASR.

ASR was tiny in those early days. I wonder if you have the stats of ASR vs. WBF from back then?

Wow, 9 years. Seems like much more recently than that. It has been a game changing vision Amir made real. Kudos to Amir.

Ps good to see Thomas posting.

As I remember it , you were responsible for the ' nick name ' . Good to see you here also Keith and still pushing your barrow , filling it with such technically sound , well engineered bits and bobs I see ( a new speaker manufacturer coming soon ) , Superb !

Do you still have the live feed of that comparison mounted on a screen in the living room ?

More than OK, just look ASR up on Gemini .., you've turned self serving forum chat of no great value whatsoever into a effective vehicle for change, holding the industry to account and helping so so many people including the hifi industry itself imo You've succeeded (!) , along with a few others turning the bus around, finding a far better road that serves the consumer by promoting actual audio engineering and good practice while championing value in the truest sense of the word .

A new logo , the original ones kinda weird but it dose feel optimistic, so let's not loose the optimism and fun. Something more memorable that representative of Amirm's work and adds value in its immediate recognition would be good imo .

And a Podcast ... .. . ;)

So that makes it time to start on planning the 10th anniversary celebrations?

Dude was an Ob/Gyn from Los Angeles California USA, if I’m not mistaken. Uses Mike Myers’ Dr. Evil as his avatar.
Possibly some confusion there. Those in the UK and Australia would know that a fanny doctor would be an Ob/Gyn.
But those in the USA might expect a proctologist.

It's amusing how we called a fanny pack a bum bag in Aus (well what's more amusing is fanny pack)... yet in either country, they are worn front facing. Fanny used to be quite a popular English name in the past too... Enid Blyton books got "updated" in that regard.
