While changing/upgrading the Opamp, i noticed the capacitor is different from all the reviews I've seen or read online lol. The stock capacitor brand is Okcap 1200uf instead of the usual nichicon/elna capacitor. Anyone with the same stock capacitor on their A07?

I can imagine a Monty Python skit where they refuse to accept your return because you opened it.

Better than a Notokcap, isn't it?

EDIT: I decided to remove my other capacitor-related gibe. Too mean-spirited. :(

Amazon is selling these for $64.... not sure what you expect. I doubt the fancy name brand caps were real and the 5532 is just a generic op amp in China probably not made by TI. None the less these amps seem to perform very well .... maybe not something that last decades but you can probably enjoy them for years.

At least the "nichicon/elna" brand were tested thoroughly and sounded really good even if it's authenticity is questionable. This Okcap brand we dont even know how it performs really compared to the original stock caps.

I can see it already. Kind of like the Python skit for arguments.

Caps don't affect the sound unless broken ... better brands tend to last longer so I don't see a difference between fake elna and real Okcap ... most likely same thing or very similar.

I have a 32V 5A Aiyima A07 from July 2022 with markings on the capacitors that read Nichicon 1000 uF 50V

I took delivery of another 32V 5A Aiyima A07 on January 19, 2023 from Amazon (USA) and the markings on the capacitors read 'Samwha' SD 2200 uF 50V 85 (degrees) C

the Samwha is about 1/2 inch taller than the Nichicon

Can this change be related to Aiyima offering to ship the A07 with power supplies that draw up to 36V/6A and 48V/5A respectively ?

True. It won't affect the sound quality directly but it does make it easier for the amp to perform its best. Similar or not I'd rather have the one tested by amirm.

These smaller manufacturer don't have the budget to lay down s written order for a large number of components. They may order components badge to badge in production. When one badge is done the next may consist of different subsuppliers' components but within spec.

It is what it is. I can also tell you that the supply chain problems are very very real in these times.

Not a lot of useful stuff on their 'website'.

Company news is missing the last SIX years, so not a lot happening in the capacitor relabelling business. They had a fire drill in 2015 which seems ominous...

these are companies of 'last resort' as such

i would never be expecting nichicon or nippon chemicon on a $50 unit so i would expect any Z tier chinese cap company

so if you're getting "ok caps" from shenzen well then, 'ok' i guess??? at least its not false advertisment... not great caps, just ok

i would expect them to last out the warranty and that's it
