Korg offers lots of toys which make me wish I had some musical talent, but now they're offering DJ and audiophile-oriented portable turntables too, co-developed with a designer of the original Vestax Handytrax. Prices start at 399 USD for the Play, and 799 for the (nu)Tube. Looks like fun audio toys if you've got vinyl.

It's interesting - I can see the appeal of the Play in a way (like other Korg gadgets) but the actual turntable/arm parts look a little toy-like. Seems like a really short arm and I can't imagine the speakers get loud, especially running on AA's. Korg makes lots of cool stuff, but is anyone asking for this type of product? I know Crosleys are popular but $800 for the HiFi model isn't cheap.

For $800 I'm expecting "real hi fi" or real DJ gear, it's not obvious this is either...

They look really fun but the value for dollar seems questionable.
