I'm looking for some budget, easy to drive headphones that have a neutral sound tuning without the need for EQ. I plan to use it plugged directly into a digital piano and occasionally my phpne. I'm currently looking at the AKG K361 as that seems the most appropriate but is there anything else I should consider?

Well I'm going to give you some options, but take them with a grain of salt. You can check out the PC38X which comes with a mic. The Sennheiser HD600, which is the legendary neutral reference. For portable options you have the more expensive Audeze Maxwell (these ones require a bit of EQ to make them neutral, but OP it is worth it) and you have the JBL tune 720bt.

Safe travels!

AKG K361/371 mostly meets your sound and budget criteria, but they are a bit filmy and might be prone to breaking. Check out RØDE NTH-100 as a better built alternative. Sennheiser HD 560S is also a good option if you don't mind open back.

I don't own them but people really like Fiio FT1 as well.
