Neumann KH750 rattle, second replacement with the same issue

All 3 units from same shop with same faults ... maybe that batch in their inventory is damaged?
Sounds like a reasonable explanation/hypothesis.

Careless postal service that destroys subwoofer drivers as speculated in the post above yours. Maybe, but it feels quite far-fetched.

Occam's razor should be applied in this case.

Oh wow.

Normally subwoofer drivers are quite resilient.

First two were from Thomman, last one is from a local shop

After the third replacement I got info back from Neumann.
The supplier changed the driver design from screw mounted magnet to glued so all 3 of them shifted in transport, causing the issue.

screw -> glue. uh oh.

Can the supplier take a picture of this? It's hard to believe TBH, and a major f...up if confirmed.

I just got the info from their support that talked to the technician. They suspect that the shipping in the region is rougher than usual for some reason, but also had similar cases reported in Germany. The last woofer was made in January this year so it could indeed just be that the package handling in Croatia is unusually rough, but also a quality/design issue.
Neumann insists that KH750 should be shipped on a mini pallet and not as a package for this to not happen, but of course everyone ignores this.

Props to the support for investigating this and being transparent about it.
