Neumann KH310 in a small room (+subs, MA1, absorbers, AVAA)

So, did you get good results with the Neumann KH 310s, or did you end up changing speakers? I have a room very similar to your first one and am planning to buy the most expensive speakers I can afford (€6,000); I'm currently considering the KH 310s. Any recommendations? Thanks.

So, did you get good results with the Neumann KH 310s, or did you end up changing speakers? I have a room very similar to your first one ( 5.5 meters long, 2.6 wide, and 2.4 high) and am planning to buy the most expensive speakers I can afford (€6,000 maximum ); I'm currently considering:

- Neumann KH 310s - 8"
- Neumann KH 150 - 6'5"
- Genelecs 8341 SAM - 6'5 "


Any recommendations? I'm very insecure about my decision......Mainly, I'll be recording vocals, guitars, and bass, and mixing rock music.Thanks!

I ended up buying the KH120 II, moving the KH310s to the living room, and selling the subs and the AVAAs. Now i am at 93% instead of 97%, but with much less hassle. I also quit audio as a hobby and stopped measuring my room.
Instead i started wildlife photography as a new hobby and i am much happier now, spending my free time outdoors.
Your situation is different than mine, you seem to do this professionally. Your room seems to be much more treated than mine. So i don't know but in any case i would wait for the new KH 310 II or 350. If this is a vertical version of the 310 as suspected, it should have a much better horizontal directivity than the 310. Can't be much longer now.
By the way in my experience Genelec and Neumann sound surprisingly different.

Im confident like 100% they will. If you reach out to them via email and ask them that you are interested in buying the KH310 they will tell you they're not far away from releasing the updated version. For us, the rest of the public that will not be here, probably the public announcement would be in a month or two - on some next bigger audio event. Wow, you emailed them and they actually replied with that?

That definitely makes it feel like the rumors are true.
I don't mind buying the current model, but there's nothing worse than spending thousands of Euros/dollars only to see a 'new and improved' version drop a few months later. That would be so frustrating!
I’ll probably wait until September/October to see what happens with the prices. But man, if they go back up to €2,100 from the current €1,888 on Thomann, and the KH 310 II doesn't even come out, I'm going to feel so foolish for waiting!

To be honest, with Neumann, I have no idea. Their marketing is really strange and confusing. The industry is waiting for new monitors and high-quality social media content, but instead, they’re busy releasing a limited run of 300 Bon Scott microphones and videos that feel like commercial ads rather than regular people actually using their products....

Wow, if this is accurate, that represents a substantial price increase. We are looking at 3,171 Euros, whereas the first-generation model retails for 1,888 Euros. Let us wait and see more leaks....

im not sure if you checked the links correctly. the kh350 is 3100+ - yes but also vertical and seems like front ported. the kh310 mk2 is set to around 2500eur and seems like it has new driver for the low end (judging by pictures)

2500 without taxes. I may be mistaken since the information is in Dutch, but Im not wrong:

- KH 310 II: 3.171'64 Euros including taxes
- KH 350 : 3.805'86 Euros including taxes

Seems the updated KH310 is almost twice what the current model is going for currently here in the UK.

We knew for a year for sure they were working on the 350 and 310 II (why else would there be files with this names in the software?). The pictures and prices are as expected and seem to be legit. The only surprising thing is how long it takes for them to be released.
I am looking forward to the 350 especially. I expect them to be as perfect as a classic 3-way (no waveforming, cardioid or coax stuff) gets and good enough for 99% of the audiophile crowd, everything else would be a surprise.

And do we get for this ? I can't see a lot of changes (except probably DSP and electronics, and perhaps some changes in the drivers). But is it worth the long wait and the price increase, I ain't sure ?
As for the KH350, it's a more compact version of the 420, with probably a 20 cm (8in) driver instead of 25 (10).
Since the long time new models were expected, I would have hoped for more changes (coax, shape of the wave guides or the port, etc).

Of course, Neumann is making pretty good gear, and i'm sure these new ones will be very good too, but I can't help being a bit disappointed.
But let's wait for a confirmation from Neumann

Honestly, if these prices (€3000-3200/per speaker) are true, that’s just insane and completely unjustified. On top of that, they’re jacking up the prices for the V1 on Thomann again. Terrible business move if you ask me. I was actually willing to stretch my budget a bit, but we’re talking about an extra €2000+ for the pair. Absolutely ridiculous.
By doing this, they're completely shifting market segments—moving away from a top-seller for the masses to a more exclusive, niche Hi-End product. I don't know who's running their economics department, but sales are definitely going to suffer hard compared to the V1...
