Neumann KH120 II

This means that the new speakers are made cheaper to produce, but sold more expensively. A 'win-win situation' for the manufacturer, so to say. :);)
My thoughts exactly
I don't think that criticizing manufacturers for the crazy price increases we're seeing lately is a taboo
And yes MDF+ plastic is a downgrade and should translate to a discount of the price of the new product .

You do know that the KH 120 II is not just KH 120 in a different enclosure?

Works fine if you choose the analog 120A in the MA-1 setup process, lots of people on Gearspace using KH750 and non-Neumann satellites with MA-1 successfully (inc myself)
You could, but then it applies wrong phase correction filters. It might be better than not having any correction at all, but still.

Regarding your original question, I see little advantage in using KH 120 II compared to KH 120 A when you already have the KH 750 DSP. So if you want to replace your monitors, you might want to consider the older model. The KH 120 A is a great speaker on its own. Any real improvement on it would involve something bigger, like a pair of KH 150 with a pair of KH 750 DSP.

Why, really, apart that you think only aluminium should be used ever and that every monitor not using it is inferior or something?
If you go out to buy Toyota and they increase the price and tell you that it's no longer made out of steel but MDF and plastic
Would you still buy it and be happy ?
Aluminum is more durable , looks better and overall a better material that I assume also contributes to great sound because I liked the sound of aluminum speakers so far (Genelec or Neumann )
So yes , it's a downgrade to me.

The last time I used a "car" made of MDF or similar it was something like this one. Perhaps make a better analogy?

So why don't you buy a monitor from German manufacturer KS Digital? The enclosures are made of steel (the front baffles of wood though) and so they must sound superior, right? Your argument is technically not valid!

You got my point and that's all that matters .
It's a downgrade no matter how you look at it.
My point is that you’ve no point, apart that you’ve some personal preference for aluminum enclosures. I like the aluminum enclosures of my Genelec, and the protective metal grills as well.

That’s fine, of course, but then you make a number of unsubstantiated assertions to support your personal preference. In how many posts by now in how many threads?

I absolutely get it that you like aluminum enclosures.

I didn't bring the subject up from thin air
It was discussed here and in the context of price increase
I'm pretty sure aluminum is more expensive than MDF
Secondly if Aluminum has 0 benefits then Genelec are sucker for using a more expensive materiel for years for no reason
