The MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment is pretty good at integrating the KH750 DSP sub in my experience. All I had to do was to adjust the low shelf gain of the resulting alignment target to my preference.

Hi guys. Long some ASR lurker..
I’ve been extensively researching Neumann and Genelec monitors for months.. finally jumped on a sale and ordered a KH750 + MA1 and a pair of KH120ii. Very excited!

I’m upgrading from an old pair of Adam A7X and no sub. My room is not ideal it’s a living room but I’ve got quite a few 4in thick rockwool panels up and floor to ceiling basstraps in the close corner. Unfortunately asymmetrical setup. But with sonarworks it looks and sounds pretty good and measurements are decent , no massive dips and peaks aren’t huge. Distance from monitors to listening position is just under 1m. 11ft distance to back wall. Room is quite wide though (like 18ft and a kitchen area on one end)

I really wanted KH310 and I was going to wait for mark IIs and knowing my luck they will probably come out early next year; but I figure I can always upgrade the kh120ii down the line if I feel they aren’t adequate. Currently I’m doing most of my mixing on Audeze LCDX with sonarworks and getting good results. But having sub and ma1 will be a game changer. I produce bass music (dub, drum n bass) so it’s essential. I know benefits of two subs could even out room modes but I can always add another sub later.

I hope I’m not going to regret the kh120ii but the kh150 seemed a bit pointless seeing I don’t need high volumes, sub will take care of the low end, and some people say two subs are needed to match kh150 SPL. The 120s measure extremely flat and I’ve seen multiple people saying it’s quite hard to hear the difference between 150 and 120ii. And they’re half the price. Did I make the right decision?

I am using the KH120II's with a Rogers Sub in a 12 by 12 foot office . I am only 3 feet (so almost 1 meter) from the speakers so really its a nearfield speaker for me. They are very very good and I will never sell them.
You are in a nearfield listening position at just under 1 meter so you should be just fine.

I there anywhere where the white KH120 II don't cost more than the black ones?

Which color would you choose?

black

Black is a good option
The white is also great but more expensive than the grey and the black one

I myself went with the white pair :) , its a personal choice in the end.
I would have loved a black pair but couldn't resist a great deal on white ones. I was worried they'd stick out in the dark but they kinda blend into the white walls in the background and I'm really liking how they look when they do catch my eye.

Welcome to ASR. KH120 II is an excellent speaker and should suit your needs very well.

thank everyone,im only worried someone say the bass of kh120ii is not very enough(or not very deep),and about the dsp,i think temporary i will not buy the ma1,so the dsp is part functional or 0 functional in this case?

If you need deeper bass, have space and budget, then KH150 is your speaker.
