Hi,

I'm new on the forum, so if this post is not in the right place, just tell me...

I'm looking for a AV receiver, atmos compatible. So far it's easy.
But I have 2 Neumann KH 310 in front and old focal surround back speakers
So i'm looking for a hometheater AVR receiver with 2 XLR output for front.

Yamaha RX-AA seems to be the perfect match, especially this his sabre DAC (I use a audiophonic U-Sabre ES9023 TCXO DAC on my PC and I love it)
I suppose that all sabre DAC deliver almost the same sound.

but before purchasing it, I'd like to know if another company sells this kind of AV receiver, to compare (2 XLR for front and classic amplified output for other channels) ?

thank you for your help.

Welcome to ASR! :)

I suppose that all sabre DAC deliver almost the same sound.

Unless they are deliberately designed to sound "different", all DACs will sound the same. This does not mean that there are no differences that can be shown from testing, it means that those differences are below the threshold of human hearing. (Big difference.)
So I wouldn't worry about the DAC portion of the equation.

Others can help you with connectivity issues. I don't keep abreast of that.

thank you Jim for this warm welcome.
maybe it's not due to the DAC chipset but I can in a AB test distinguish my U-Sabre ES9023 TCXO DAC and my Fiio DAC.
And I clearly prefer the U-sabre. I don't know if the clock and low jitter of the U sabre is the key component here or the DAC

Possibly un-matched voltage levels. See here.

Hi,
I finally bought the Yamaha RX-A6A and plugged my pair of KH310A.
It's a perfect match. XLR output on yamaha drive well the Neumann speakers.

I need now to re-calibrate my room with math audio EQ (I may try the yamaha YPAO system, but i'm used to room EQ)
