Hi,
I just have purchased a Cambridge Audio CXA 61 plus a CA AXC35 cd player which will be connected to amp over the digital S/PDIF link. The next planned step then is to add a network streamer (without DAC) and connect it to the CXA using the USB as connection. The idea is to listen to internet radios but especially stream FLAC files I store on my local network on a NAS. No spotify or whatever other service is really in scope for now,
From what I have seen so far the Allo USBbridge (https://allo.com/sparky-eu/usbridge.html) would be an option, just like the Stack Audio link II ( https://stackaudio.co.uk/link2/). After watching videos of the "famous" (if I am right after looking up some threads here) Hans Beekhuyzen, the Stack Audio delivers a better sound, which is something I doubt a bit because the fundamental hardware used to transcode the data is a Raspi in both cases, so there is no big difference here. And after seeing a video like the one below I have some doubts about his claims about the sound quality, especially when using different power supplies and not only the cables.
So is there any advantage of the Stack Audio over the Allo beside the WiFi connection?
